Beth and I go to Eckerd's every year - about 30-45 minutes away, and pick apples at their orchard. The best apples in the world are Honeycrips.
They're in season starting this weekend.
Anyone want to come along and pick apples with us? It'll be fun. There's a nice place for lunch, you get to ride on a tractor, wander around picking apples and tasting apples. There are other neat things to do too - it's a fun day and good times.
We plan to go Saturday or Sunday - 25th or 26th. So, not much notice. But we only found out they were in season yesterday.
Honeycrisps are in season (wanna pick some?) Aug 25/26

Well, we're back.
We got 17.5 lbs of them. And we were lucky to get that - they opened picking at 9am, and they only had six or seven rows of the trees - the freeze earlier in april hurt honeycrisps too. They usually can pick for two or three weeks - they'll be done tonight after one day.
That's about 40 apples. mmm... like juicy, apple-flavored gold.
