Geek Con in Madison, WI

Geek Kon in Madison

Hi All,

I'm planning on attending the first Geek Kon here in Madison, WI on the weekend of October 6th and 7th. The con organizers are interested in a webcomics panel. I know it's the same weekend as Fallcon, but is anyone here interested in joining me on the panel?

I'm planning on discussing Lab Bratz , A Gathering of Crows , and anything else that pops into my head on the whole webcomics issue.

If interested, post here or send me an email Labbratz (at) gmail.com.

Thanks,

Ed

Something I could actually travel to.

I don't claim to be any sort of authority on webcomics, not am I really that seasoned either, but I have my own ideas and such. And I'm fairly interested in this.... Yea, I'd be really interested in this!

Jeezze you know that sounds like a bash, and I would love to attend, but it’s on the other side of the condiment from me. Plus you know, the whole rocky mountains…

But in all seriousness, I wish I could attend more conventions as an official comic author, but I’m outa luck. Plus I’m Canadian, and we don’t have many comic conventions up here, only bares and snow.

I wish you guys the best of luck, knock em dead!

What are you talking about? Canada has lots of conventions. Especially if you're in Toronto.

You'd be perfect for this! I don't have any specific agenda set up yet, other than telling people how we do what we do and how a lot of them could too! I've asked for a projector/computer combo, so bring a few images on a traveldrive!

And I'm hanging out in the BBQ sauce!

Awesome :D

I sent you an e-mail as well... from fesworks at gmail

So any additional information that I could get about what to bring, what to expect/do, typical costs of this and that. I'd most likely have to stay at a Motel 6. I'm all for this, I'd just want to be prepared. ;)

Anyone else interested in joining us at Geek Kon? I have to let the organizers know who will appear on the panel for promotional purposes (flyers, etc).

Hey it was great meeting Fes (and Justin Pierce and Tim Demeter) at the Geek Kon. We gave a well-attended panel discussion on webcomics and I had an awesome time.

Fes gave a talk on Jenny Everywhere that I think encouraged some prospective webcomickers to jump into the game!

Thanks again, Fes! I wish I had more time to hang out, but it looks like you found plenty to do, judging by all the pix.

Take care,

Ed

Yes, I think we should do it again next year, and maybe plan for a 1.5 - 2 hour panel with more area webcomic artists, and hopefully Tim and Justin again. Maybe showing more on art and/or story writing.

I'd be willing to help out again :D It was great!

I spent most of the time in the magic tournament but I had a great time. I wish I could have stayed for some of the panels but I could only be there for Saturday.
