Laemkral wrote:My digital camera is cheap, and has no close up function. People need to stop telling me that it has one and to use it, because it doesn't so I can't. Surprisingly enough, THESE were taken with my CELL PHONE. The digital camera is far blurrier than these, so all future miniature pictures will be taken via cell phone.

I do have a friend at work who's nice enough to take pictures of my minis with her professional grade camera and email them to me. Once I've finished this project, I'm gonna ask her to take pictures of this.
This is probably going to sound a little stupid, but do you have a magnifying glass? You can sometimes hold the magnifying glass up to the miniature, then take a picture through it to get a little better macro. Also - if your camera can zoom, try taking pictures at different zoom levels - wide and close is not always the best (especially if you use the magnifying glass). Your camera should have some sort of autofocus confirmation - make sure you depress the button halfway and wait for the beep or light or whatever before pushing it all the way. I'm guessing your camera doesn't have a manual mode, but if it does, put it on a tripod, and turn the aperature setting to the highest number - you'll get a little bit of give if the picture isn't in razor sharp focus at this setting.

I'd go with "get a new camera" too. For under a hundred bucks, you can get 5 megapixels, easy. With a simple zoom feature.

Before you say "why the hell should I spend the money" the truth is that you made something really neat that you're proud of, and you might make something else really neat like that. You should have a GOOD way to photograph it and show it off.

All great advice, and all appreciated, and a better camera more suited for what I want is on the list of things I want but can't afford along with a ton of other things.

For now, the cell phone can take very good in close pictures that while they may not be THE best, still show off to a relative degree the details I'm capable of putting in.

Being snide to Neko is like punching the Hulk. He'll just glair at you and then show you how it's really done.

A majority of people at deviantart were doing this Art meme thing. I decided to follow the masses and do one myself.

Bob Ross is a scary, scary man.

I loved the episode of The Boondocks when they made fun of him, but as an almost maniacal nutjob that kept his calm- even when in a shootout with the police.
You know, i should work on this.

Family guy parodied him too - I think it was something like, "We'll put a little bush here. It'll be our secret. Just between you and me. Don't tell anyone. Don't tell. I SAID DON'T TELL BITCH!!!!"

He's a very spooky guy.
