Yeah, that stuck out to me a little as well. My bass was the heaviest thingTellurider wrote:*shrug* sure I guess. but guitars are pretty heavy. electric ones, anyway, usually are. not superheavy but it takes a bit of wrist strength to hold it at the appropriate angle with just one hand on the neck. it just looks odd to me, but whatever, it's a cartoon.

Re: Doodles 10 - Cutting a Double Figure
guitars...heavy.... guess thats really interpertation. Now I'll admit richenbachers and there are various "out-mod" guitars that could be pretty heavy... no more than a stone though. THe big issue with holding with the neck is more about how the neck is fixed to the body, and how disporportionate the neck's "leverage is to the body. And though he says they aren't playing the things.. I hope not. I've tried to play without a strap standing up. ha ha... is pretty hard.Komiyan wrote:Yeah, that stuck out to me a little as well. Though Komi I haven't played to many bass guitars they do tend to be by average a little heavier than a six string.

I thought maybe a Guitar Hero reference? The loading screen talks about turning up the volume to 11.McDuffies wrote:Is what we have to get Spinal Tap reference?CaptainClaude wrote: You might get this. you might not.

That and figuring out what the BBC iPlayer is. Thought it was pretty obvious, but there's always someone.McDuffies wrote:Is what we have to get Spinal Tap reference?CaptainClaude wrote: You might get this. you might not.

They're uncomfortable enough that if you're going to play for an extended period standing up that you want a strap. My bass is heavy, my acoustic gets heavy over time, and my electric is heavy, too.Phact0rri wrote:guitars...heavy.... guess thats really interpertation. Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

Re: Doodles 10 - Cutting a Double Figure
for me its about leverage. I can play my harmony accoustic if I balance it on my hip. but the thing you have to consider. is that you can't really do much with the fretboard if your holding it. you go two bars and you got to rebalanced yourself. thats the main issue. Guitars weren't designed to be played standing up.Dotty wrote:They're uncomfortable enough that if you're going to play for an extended period standing up that you want a strap. eeeeeeverybody makes the 11 reference. EEEEEEEEEEEVERYBODY. I just thought it was funny the BBC included an 11 setting on their internets flash player. just one of those weird things.McDuffies wrote:apparently guitar hero made the same referenceCaptainClaude wrote:That and figuring out what the BBC iPlayer is. I wanted to wait until I got the SWF done, but it might be a while now that I'm gonna start working at the Venture Bros studio for my internship.
Since people have been asking where the TV at the bottom went, I decided to make a mockup of the layout, even though they'll be animated as separate objects.

Also, this is me taking 3 minutes to take the piss out of pseudo-manga drawn by wannabes.

Expression 3 entertains me.
And I should never touch the computer in moods like this.

And here's a face I did to demonstrate how I shaded images to someone who does a different style of shading, and is trying to learn to paint instead of the cel-shady stuff. This character appears in my comic, unlike the one above. o_O Who was me, being very bored.

And finally, a rough sketch of MOST of my cast. At least the people who reappear semi-frequently. Not that everyone here has shown up yet. It's kind of a bit like GAH. I have too many characters. o.o That's 12 people and doesn't include about seven more named people, plus NPCs... hee.

These are most certainly doodles. 5 minutes each sort of thing.
