The error message on the DD forums suggest their database is down.

on CG Our database for the comics yesterday was down for half the day because someone rebooted the server and then didn't check to see if the database came back up. And when it did come back up, it thought it was still keenspace.com So I fixed it and it's back to normal. It wouldn't have had any real impact to CG'ers other than losing half a day of logs and the update system and guide would have been half a day behind till it catches up. (The updater processes in order entered, so people who kept hitting the "update" button kept putting themselves at the back of the queue.)
