Who, Ted?

I already changed a few faces while at lunch, so the page is a little different now.

It's not been mentioned yet, but his name is Theodore Hamilton.

That's a little weird, because people have called me Theodore, and I have no idea why...ever have that happen?

I rather like the panel five flirting. It sorta looks like Evan's trying to be subtle but failing dismally, which is terribly endearing.

And if that's the point, to show that he doesn't have the proper social skills to know how to flirt, then I'd say go for it. I'm just basing my judgment on what I've seen so far.

I toned down some of it on my own before I saw your message. But yeah, he's kinda supposed to be stupid. Ted is going to be all over him later, and obviously he's gonna deny it.

It was a while back, but Evan made a similar face towards Ashley when they first met in that flashback when he showed her where professor Squrriel's office was (good god I can't think of her name right now!)

Anyway, keep up with suggestions. I can't fix things if I don't know what's wrong.

Hey, CG's working again. Neat, there's a new Ugly Girl page!

Well, in the fourth frame, the way Evan's holding his hand looks odd to me. Is he resting his head on his hand? I can't pinpoint it, but the angle of the hand looks a bit off. ... Sorry, that wasn't very helpful, was it?

Well, spicy tuna roll is worth flirting over, but Newcastle? Everyone knows sushi should be eaten with saki and cosmo-tinis :shucks:

Yeah, I'd say it appears from that angle like he's cupping his hand to his ear to try and hear something, because the palm of his hand doesn't appear to be under his chin supporting it. Although I know that some angles don't even look right in real life so it's not easy to make them look real in the comic.

And about the storyline, it did seem a little out of character for Evan to suddenly be so into the waiter upon meeting him for the first time. That's not to say that he's not capable of having an instant attraction to someone, but I wouldn't have expected he'd be so... forward. Then again, there are plenty of angles you can take with it, a good one being that he's never really encountered this type of situation before, and therefore he doesn't know quite how to deal with it or how he is coming off to others. Even though it's sudden and confusing right now, it's a good opportunity to develop his character and let the reader into a part of his personality that hasn't been explored yet. After all, characters that never change are boring.

New one is up. It's a little different I guess. The sentiment is still there.

It may seem confusing now since we're seeing it one page at a time. As time goes on, we'll see if I suck or not.

Thanks. I didn't actually spend much time inking it. I used a pitt marker for most of the figures. I need to stop caring and get faster. I'm trying to adopt the mindset of the whole over the part. It's not like Jeff Smith blew us away on every page of Bone.

Totally. I'll pick and choose my moments when to blow people away.

The Pitt markers are nice for up close figures. But for ones farther in the distance, I can't get fine lines with it.
