The happening place to be. Unless you go somewhere else that's more stimulating.

I am simple.
ME!
Actually that's a lie. I like doing things the hard way apparently.

Everything is simple when it's on paper. But when you put stuff into practice and things start happening, then the complication begins.
I tend to take the hard route too for some reason.

Probably because the hard route is the one that involves the journey, and you all know how that goes

It's also usually the one that doesn't result in being a jerk.

Simple, complicated, easy, hard... it's all in the mind.

Well, everything is in our mind, as our mind explains everything, so that's no excuse

It's not meant to be an excuse. What I'm saying is: Whether something is simple or complicated, easy or hard, is an interpretation. You can tell yourself "doing the dishes is hard", and hate doing them; or you can tell yourself "doing the dishes is easy", and enjoy doing them. The actual work is the exact same. Only the perception is different. And thus we create our own reality in our minds.

The mind is often times the biggest obstacle to getting anything done.

My perception is this is oversimplified.

And yet how do we know that reality itself exist?

We don't. The essence of reality is the philosophical conundrum, no?
Personally, I am content with assuming my reality exists, and I shall behave as if it does until empirical observation suggests otherwise.

My pen ran out of ink while lettering, so I cleaned it and refilled it. But now the lettering is inconsistent because I smell.
