How do you get attention? I've always wondered what stood me apart from other people in regards to being noticed. It just seems whether it be in real life or online, I really don't seem to stand out much. Flashiness just isn't me I guess. Which seems to be how the world tends to work, not always though. I just wonder how it's like to be someone admired, noticed, acknowledged, heard, or present. I wonder, that's all. Just a thought.

I used to feel the same way many years back, but honestly it's not worth anything really. When I went to Siberia to help out as a teacher on a project, I was the talk of the town. Always a crowd around me and everyone wanting to impress and get to know me. It was just Superman syndrome(He's a nobody on Krypton but the Man on Earth), and people over there weren't used to europeans.

It's fun for a while but it's really stressing to be the centre of attention. You are concious about it all the time and you feel heavy responsibility. You must sport a good behavior, not ignore anyone, gently brush off 16 year old girls... Well, I didn't like it much. When people admire you, they project a desire that isn't you. You're just a template for someone else's dreams, and they see only what they want to see.

Real friends > admirers
