So Mab, is this based on a true incident, was there really someone like this? And after reading today's (31-7) comic all I have to say is EEEWWWWW. Eww eww eww eww eww eww ewwwwww!<P>Unless by some miracle the subject of the poem is just gleefully searching through his pockets for loose change to call his mom...<P>...no, EEEEWWWWW!!!!! Or as Wakko Warner would say, "that's reMOLTing!"<P>Queen Bee <-grossed-out

Indeed. This latest storyline seems somewhat eerie (yet intriguing), and the playing card man concept definitely has me curious. Wonderfully almost surreal use of gray in the last few strips (and while I've never heard the song in question, it definitely adds to the atmosphere and intrigue and whatnot.) Nice work and all that, as usual.

Geesh, some people.<P>Of course, that's only marginally better. And only because we live in a society that thinks sex is more obscene than violence. Oops! ::hops off soapbox::<P>Animaniac

Playing Card Man... sounds familiar.
Change just a single letter at the end of a word and you'll know... <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif"><P>------------------

Looking for a good tagline since 1996.

I have to add here that this entire segment so far has really been extraordinarily well done! The playing card background, the haze and nervous expressions, and particularly the rhyme. It just makes it all seem so creepy...and relentless. <P>It reminds me of the little diddy in Nightmare on Elm Street that still spooks me whenever I'm alone ("One, two, Freddy's coming for you...") <P>Kudos

One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
Three, four, better lock the door.
Five, six, grab a crucifix.
Seven, eight, don't stay up late.
Nine, ten, never sleep again.
