Short Frequent Comics or Long Less Frequent Comics?

Post by Kasaii »

I may go with what I want regardless, but I thought I'd ask for input first, see what people think. :)

Well, I'm divided on the issue. I recommend that you take what's better for you. When we vote we have no idea of the input, just the frequency of output.

Use both as neccessary, depending on the comics at hand? I would note that some of the past comics would be better if combined together and made into one comic.

Agreed. Why not do what worked for the first incarnation; Small comics most of the time, big daddies for really key events?

Mainly because I can't. I don't have a ton of free time at the moment, and twelve panels means twice as much work. Even six panels is a lot of work most of the time. And I don't want to randomly shift around my update schedule; that's just a bad idea.

Well then considering its a story driven comic I'd say it'd be far more reliable in the long term to have the long form comics in case you need more panels for something.

The 4 panel thing is kinda reserved for humor driven comics. Just enough to go through the set up and punch line of the joke.

I like what I was doing personally, that is, four panel comics on mon-thurs and an 8 panel on friday and the weekends. You may be too busy for that though.

That option ends up doing even less comics overall...
Perhaps 2 days of 4-6 and 2 days of 8+?

So would 8 at a time, at least this way there's some more to it. But he may be too busy to be doing one every day, especially 8 panels on Fri-Sun.

no, I mean 2 days of 4 panel comics and 1 day of 8 panel comics is numerically inferior in panels to 3 days of 8 panel comics while still requiring the same number of updates.

Just chiming in to say that I am not angry at all. You know what's best.

This seemed like the most appropriate thread. Don't underestimate the loyalty of your fanbase. We'll beat up anyone who gets angry.

Out of pure selfishness, I have to say long, less frequent comics. Largely because I tend to disappear, and having to catch up with several updates can be a pain.

But do whatever makes you happiest. It's your comic after all. :)

I have to vote for frequent updates; I read my webcomics every morning, the more the better, and comics like Patchwork Champions, that are just so consistently funny, are the ones that get me through the morning. Therefore, the more updates the better.

:o

XD

Sorry, guys! This thread should probably have been locked ages ago. I put it up back when I was trying to get through Patchwork Heroes: Order of Thorns, because I was having trouble getting conversations where I wanted them in the comic sizes given. The poll is thoroughly moot since OoT ended.

(As an aside, it is a bizarre and awesome sensation to actually be posting in more than one thread at a time on my forum. Very novel. ;) )

Well, I try to bring my friends to any party... wish a few more of them had shown, actually.

Is this a 'serious discussions only' forum, or can we do silly stuff as well?
