Shading techniques...

Post by Jackhass »

The observant among you might have noticed that the shading in the past couple comics has looked a bit different. That's becuase I did it by hand as opposed to using the computer.

So...which method do you prefer? Hand pencil shaded, or computer shaded? Both methods require approximately the same amount of time and effort on my part, so I really don't have much of a preference. Gimme your opinion.

Hmmmm, I see. Well I might still do the hand shading sometimes...particularly if people are hogging the computer that day and I can't get on to do it.

No no no... hand shading is the way to go, my man. Your hand shading is very nice. If that's easy for you, go for it. Very professional looking and pretty.

I've been doing kind of a combo in a lot of recent comics...some hand shading, some computer. Seems to be working okay.
