"42"!

Post by Dennis Kininger »

Yes, most of us know it as the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything.

However, as of January 12, it also refers to...ME!

Yup, somehow I managed to rack up another birthday over the weekend and part of me is still impressed to be such a "vast" age (I remember when 30 was "old"). I certainly don't feel "old" and I seldom act my age :shucks: . I just remember more old crap than the young'uns do.

Anyway, I had a pleasant day: I took the day off from work and goofed off, Dad treated me to dinner (I treat him on his birthday), got some cards, money, lottery tickets, a Barnes & Noble gift card (what a strange thing to give a librarian  ), my Auntie in Minnesota called to wish me well, plus my older sister who lives about 3 hours from me called and I had cake.

All in all, a nice day.

Awww...thanks, everyone! :shucks: ~Dashes around giving hugs~

Yeah, having a nice birthday is always cool, whatever your age.

*Colonel: You're absolutely right to never forget your towel. I mean, one never knows when you'll need one, right?

*Frank: Those pesky dragons won't know what hit them. I still haven't had a chance to play D&D yet but I've been doing lots of reading so I oughta know what's going on the next time we manage to gather to play.

*Redtail: Do I feel enlightened? Well...I definitely now feel as smart as a white mouse and/or a dolphin, which means my intellect exceeds the third most intelligent species on earth. XD

I'll have to test the limits of my newly enlightened age with some meditation this weekend...then I'll take my birthday cash and my bookstore card and blow it all at Barnes & Noble...then devour my remaining cake.

Yes, hopefully, being such an enlightened age will last all year long...then I can be dorky again when I hit 43. :shucks:

Thanks, Joy and E-Man!

I even picked up a late present from a co-worker today. She raises chickens and asked me last week if I liked eggs.

I told her I like eggs just fine (which I do), so she brought in a dozen FRESH ones for me today! Yes, I don't think I've ever had fresh eggs so I think I'll make an omelette for my din-din tonight or some fried rice or something involving eggs...I'm not sure what I wanna make yet.

As to belated birthday wishes...my older brother tends to send me a birthday card around Valentines Day. His birthday is next month and I'll get to tease him for being old and forgetful...yes, sibs are fun to have around, even when we're now adults.

LOL!

As long as it's food and edible, I don't care what I call the meal I eat at night.

After several years of bachelorhood, I've come to really enjoy cooking for myself.

I had fried rice last night and scrambled a couple of my birthday eggs to add in.

It was!

Cooking's fun. I guess I like the creative aspect of it...you make something and then eat it. I'm pretty good at making several things.
