Just walk away...

So I totally found an old post regarding a T.V. show called MST3K. First I tried to figure this out using leetspeak, I came up with " Mystic " never heard of it and thought surely if Kristy's friends kow what it is then I will know, so I must have been wrong but could not find another leetspoken word. After this I thought peraps an anagram with the vowels removed? This was impossible due to the number of possible solutions. Anagrams were out. I then ( for reasons unknown ) Went into rebus-solving mode. I tried several concoctions none of which made a lick of sense. And then I thought, " Frank, simple people use simple forms of expression! " so I went ancient on this and decided search for the acronym. Then it hit me. It hit me like a car tumbling down a hill on fire after being blown off the road by Mad Max. MST3K- Mystery Science Theater 3000, one of my favorite shows of all time as a kid. Dennis, I too added my own dialouge to movies and shows before I saw this. Of course you have 2 decades of lip-sync on me.
All of this made me think, " Man, wouldn't it be great to go check out some riddles?" and of course, mentioning Mad Max brought back road warrior nostalgia and I totally want to do that to tonight. So a Mel-o-thon is on the roster I just need to find a VCR. Mich do you have one? I know you've never seen the Road Warrior Trilogy so it might be worth it!
How is Patches K? I bumped across that thread and remembered when Joy sent you some money. I wanted to as well but I had only just learned of your exsistence. Not just Joy but everyone helped. You have amazing friends and I am super glad to know 2 of them. Can't wait to meet everyone else in person!

"There has been too much pain, too much blood shed. None here are without sin. I come to you with a compromise...Just walk away. I will give you safe passage through the valley of death. Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror." -Humungous from Mad Max 2

Hmmm...a Mel-o-thon?

Personally, I thought "Beyond Thunderdome" was dopey but I still LOVE to watch MAD MAX and ROAD WARRIOR to this day. I saw ROAD WARRIOR when it was in the theatres and MAD MAX on HBO a few years after it came out. I've heard Gibson is planning a 4th Mad Max movie...I'm curious to see what a grizzled, old Max would be like. If the story's good, I'll watch it.

Yes, MST3K is the abbreviation for MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATRE 3000, I still miss that show today. Although, out of habit, I do find myself firing one liners at the screen when I find myself watching something shitty on TV.

Now I'm curious to watch my copies of MAD MAX and ROAD WARRIOR again. (D'oh!)

I hate tina turner....she destroyed the movie. But the best line in the world ever came from Beyond the thunderdome. It was when Blaster was inside the train engine and says" Remember, Wherever you go, that's where you are. " They use that in Diablo as well for one of the shrines of randomness and it teleports you to a random part of the dungeon( where you generally end up screwed ).
But yea, I have a bad habit of rehashing old movies that people can't help but be compelled to see.

I apologize. :shucks:

Yeah, some singers are actually very good actors but Tina Turner isn't one of them.

That's actually a very old Zen quote used in that movie. I've seen it in other movies and a book or two. Nice quote but it's hardly original.

Your right XD

I never heard it used by anyone else and that was my first occurance with it. I like it though as it reminds me that I have to make the best out of any situation.
I am glad others like the movie. Aside from bad dialouge though it was neat. I am really interested in post-apocolyptic speculation and people's view on it. This was an interesting one. And with the price of fuel these days, I would imagine it would be like that if we destroy ourselves.

Well...Thunderdome came out in 1985 and the quote was used a year earlier in the "Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai" movie...which is very cool, if you've never seen it.

Hopefully, by the time our oil and petroleum totally runs out, we'll have found a viable alternative. Since this won't happen in our lifetimes, I'm not going to worry about it.

Pumaman. Best. Episode. Ever.

You can watch it on Youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=xSG_tuMG8pw& ... ed&search=

Patches is good, btw. Sometimes we like to see if we can make her fall over by dangling toys in front of her. The poor thing doesn't have balance any more. ^_^

:o Pumaman...giving new meaning to the term bad-movie.

I never saw MST3K when it ran...I'm liking the snarky comments...

Am I a bad, bad person for laughing at Kristys tippy Patches story?

Hurray for more MST3K fans!

I love the cool folks on this forum.

I have many favorite episodes and PUMAMAN is one of them.

Good to hear that Patches is okay.

I got attacked by Quincy the other day and thought to myself" Surely Patches wouldn't be so cruel, why must you be?"

Then, as if he could read my mind, he said " Mrooowww. " Then I was like "Exactly! Patches is awesome. " He then proceeded to attack me till I said uncle...

Heeheehee!

Cool!

I talk with Fred now and then about getting kitties at my house and I plan to sometime soon. She's been good for feline advice.

Patches is a sweetheart. That said, she's also crazy. Sometimes, very rarely, she'll flip out and tear your face off. It was worse when she was a kitten and still had claws. I've got about 50 some odd tiny scars from that cat. But most of the time she just lays around and purrs her little heart out. ^_^

Like that guy bob at work who seems really nice to everyone then one day your one of your co-workers makes the headlines as a headless body on the side of the road. That kind of purring and that kind of crazy?

If Bob used to hang out with everyone after work and bake cookies for the office, then yes.

Awww...how nice! :shucks:

I still recall how my two doggies used to fight sometimes and other times they'd be in a chair together licking the tops of each other's heads...no, really!

They went to doggy heaven years ago and I still miss having a pet.

I miss having a pet. I have had the greatest companions in the world. I had a cat that woke me up every morning for school faithfully. She was like an alarm clock. Then I had a dog that would laugh at people who got injured. My last dog Onyx was as good as they come as far as a man's best friend( strangely he was all blond contrary to his name).

Yup, dogs are great.

However, I'm not home enough to give a dog the attention it needs which is why I'm considering a cat.

Cats are great to! Especially if you have a mouser. They are a bit more feral but when (and if) they decide to let you near they are very affectionate and cool. As far as playing with a mouser, they like to leave your arm or face looking like confetti.
What kind of cat are you thinking about getting? An indoor kitty an outdoor kitty or a kitty that controls the entire block, using your house as a home base to let his stray minions hang out just like Fatcat off of 'Chip and Dale:Rescue Rangers' ?

I'd say if you get a cat either make it an indoor/outdoor or get two cats so they can keep one another company.

My kitty used to get so attention starved in the old place I lived in. I had to keep him secluded in my room for a year til I was able to move out.

I'm leaning towards getting an indoor kitty and I'll get a friend to keep him/her company while I'm at work.

I own a large house, so they'll have plenty of room to explore and exercise once I get them used to me and their new home.

There are various dogs and other critters wandering around my neighborhood so I think I'd prefer indoor kitties.
