Fred, driving for a living?

I don't like driving either. I just do it out of necessity. Now if it were possible to, I don't know, apparate or something, that would totally rock.

Sorry, I got major league confused. That'll teach me to skim over forums.

Anyways, I don't care that my wife doesn't care to drive, I prefer driving anyway. Not instead of her, but just in general. She's a dang good driver.

Of course, living in Atlanta, "wanting" to drive is subjective. In this case, it means I hate it the least of the two of us.

Apparating would be cool, but I'd prolly screw up and leave bits of me behind. Too dangerous. =p Go flying! I don't mean planes, of course. Never even been on one. But the ability to make yourself fly....squee! ^^

Dennis,

I trust all is well with you. I presume you are still living in the frozen North. Maybe Fred will make you an icon when she is done with mine.

While at a Denny’s, watching the many crows and pigeons waiting ambush anyone coming out of the restaurant and mug them for food, I came up with an invention that you could wear that'd let you fly at any speed and any altitude. But I forgot it before I had a chance to get home.
I think that it may have actually worked. It really did seem very obtainable at the time. If only I could remember it.

It wouldn't have happened to look anything like this, by any chance?

Sorry, I can be a bit skeptical on things that claim to break the mold without any good proof that they have/could.

See, I told you that I was longwinded...

I swear it probably could have worked. It seemed so right in my head. It was an epifany of sorts, but more like a bomb of realization going off in my head.

Did I happen to mention that before my interest turned back to art and I started working as a body/security guard/bounty hunter (most people find that even harder to believe), that I was actually shooting to go to MIT. I was heavy into mechanical engineering, robotics, and theoretical mechanics. Back then I was all set to change the world with giant robots and unlimited power sources. But then I got dissuaded by someone close to me telling me my ideas were intangible.
A really big pain came when I saw some of the things I had envisioned on TV years later, only slightly different.
So I kind of put college on the shelf (until recently), and went to work strait out of high school working security. It's only another year before I get my armed license and start working as a high risk protection for celebrities and foreign nationals (although I did work a party for the NBA two months ago already), then maybe I'll also get my private investigator license too. If you're good, you can make a lot of money off of being a skip tracer.

Hi John,

Thanks for the nice words. Yeah, I'm still living in the arctic tundra of Upstate New York. We still have snow and it's cold but signs of Spring are here.

I'm looking forward to visiting with Fred when I see her at the convention next month and I'd be very flattered to have my own icon here. I won't stay away from here for so long as I enjoy this forum.

Yeah, things are well with me and I hope they're the same with you.

Best,

Dennis
