Hello there. How are you? I do like your shoes.

I've been working on my webcomic a while (three years or more) and it's changed a bit in that time. Just to be awkward and irritating, I've got two main sites. What you'll see on Comic Genesis is a catchup of all the drawings:

It's actually been up there a few weeks. As I've been really busy and not uploaded the most recent batch. Until now. The next one's coming up on Tuesday, and I'm loaded up until late July.

The other site is at http://www.evilflea.com/ and is the up-to-date site - when I see the comic has *changed*, you'll see what I mean. Not in tone so much, but certainly in style. It also includes poems and stories. And some audio-sketches of variable quality.

Feedback is welcome, although I'm unlikely to change anything *drastically* as a result.

Bump because I've started to do more and more varied things. It's probably going to be tending towards "ilustration" rather than "comic", I think, though it will often still be based on some pun or play-on-words.

I checked out your first link and honestly saw nothing that would draw me into becoming a perminant reader. The jokes were so-so, with copy and paste and paint drawings. The pied piper comic had decent art, but I couldn't find the navigation buttons so I didn't read anymore. If you had more comics like that I might read it as there has been a lot more effort put into it.

Well, the first link is the comic genesis site which, as I said, is some of the older stuff - I was intending to effectively turn that into the main site, but I didn't bother in the end, so I stopped uploading. It started with me just mucking around with film titles and making very quick drawings in Photoshop with a crappy old rollerball mouse - the intention was always to have the humour rather than the artwork being the standout element, and it was only really aimed at showing to a few mates. I didn't really intend to ever start taking it seriously (and I don't really take it all that seriously now).

Very little is actually copy and paste - I presume you just mean it was drawn badly on a computer - certainly *none* of the later hand drawn stuff is copy and paste. The Pied Piper is a bit of a departure in style - it's often much simpler stuff to draw, and lately I've been putting more rough sketches on there, as I don't have the time to draw everything how I want. Again, often it's the idea that's important to me, rather than the quality of artwork - though some of them, like the Pied Piper, I really want to get right.

The navigation buttons are below each post on the main site - they're worded links rather than buttons - something I find slightly annoying but can't change. There are also instructions in the side bar telling you this. I know a lot of people don't like comics being uploaded to Blogger, because of the navigation, but there are poems and stories on there too, so it's a bit of a compromise.

PPS Like your artwork. I'm utterly rubbish at reading serial comics though so I probably won't get through it.

Because navigation has come up as an issue again, I've made my own more user-friendly tag-list in the sidebar, rather than the automatic Blogger one - now everythings by category-within-category rather than just alphabetical or by frequency. And on the last post of each of the two serial comics, which are finished anyway, I've posted the entire comic, rather than just the last page, so they can be read more easily from start to finish. I've also made it three posts on the first page now, rather than just one, so if the latest post is a bit naff, there's less chance of visitors being turned off.

The Pied Piper. I like it. A nice little it of a break from the stick figure stuff.

Yeah, I'm experimenting a lot more with different styles. It's gradually been creeping in but stick men are probably going to be rather less frequent, though they won't disappear completely - certainly they'll feature quite heavily in the "Sketchbook" stuff.

I've been toying with a rather more ambitious idea today, about a chap called Keith, who has an imaginary conscience called Billy. Who is a fish. It'll probably go up all in one go as a PDF. It really wouldn't make any sense to anyone if it went up page by page. Not that it's going to make much sense anyway. I only really have an introduction at the moment and no story. Not that that's ever stopped me...

Yeah, we all need to be careful with the stick figure stuff. We don't want to be promoting eating disorders.

Good point on the stick comics. Maybe I should start having some kind of moral to each cartoon. Like, "Kids, it's all well and good wanting to grow up to be a model, but some people make themselves very ill in trying to achieve their goals. And it's those kinds of sacrifices you're going to have to make all the time if you want to grow up to be a success."
