Three years have passed since School Spirit made its official launch on what was then Keenspace. It now boasts 440 strips and 43 largescale special strips spanning 35 short storylines which, believe it or not, actually go together to tell the meandering everyday story of a gaggle of Australian primary school kids going about their lives as best they can, with a handful of spirits living in the cemetery next door.
There's the basic pitch. Here's the basic plotline at the moment. Currently the boys have gone hunting around for clues to the Soldier's background, learning he was a member of the Light Horse and probably fought in Gallipoli during World War I.
There have also been recent clues as to Wendy's background and how she came to be a twelve year old spirit haunting the cemetery, and it seems that learning the background of these two spirits continue throughout foreseeable future.
If you haven't given it a look over, give it a shot. It's not your regular webcomic fare and quite probably aimed at a demographic or age group that differs from your own, but you may well be surprised.
I reckon it's a bit of a hidden gem, but keep in mind diamonds and coal are made of the same stuff, eh? It's all in what you're looking for.
Cheers.
Remember when your imagination was real? When the day seemed
longer than it was, and tomorrow was always another game away?
You mean... one of those sites actually published the news?? Wow. I sent three news pieces about the third anniversary to different webcomic sites such as Comixpedia and TWCL and stuff like that... and none of them put it up.
Thanks for thinking about the kids, eh?
