I tried pitching it before, but nobody noticed.

So, it's about two guys, it often looks at the music industry, and it's unusually good. Funny, and all that.

Look at it.

Okay, maybe that's stretching it. But dude, it rocks. Fuck yeah. The humor's tight, the art's attractive. And it pisses on Franz Ferdinand. Nuff said.

Hm. I didn't know Keenspace would allow racist humor. Not that you are doing racist humor, but it could be mistaken for that by some......but it's still a funny comic.

Heh heh, I'll admit I was enjoying this a bit.

The jokes are of the kind you will find often on the internet, with offensive under and over tones at times, but not constant. I dunno, it's wierd usually I'd say humor like this is overused and bland by now, but you do a good job pulling it off.

Oh and just to Uncaringmachine, I wouldn't consider this comic racist really. It's attempting to be offensive but it's just a joke, and it's not trying to seriously portray any stereotype as inherently true.

Actually that kind of bugs me I'll be honest. Just because a comic has offensive humor doesn't mean that people have to care. If a person mistakes the humor as racist (which you said you didn't so I'm not talking about you =]) and the rest of the world sees it as humor... well tough luck to the oversensitive person who cared, that's their own damn fault.

Actually, it's funny - your timing is excellent. The style is uniqe, which I respect... but it may take me a while to actually LIKE it... right now your it seems a tad forced, especially in the shoulders. They seem constantly to be almost shrugging. Also, I don't know their names. Especially when starting out, I want to know WHO is talking. They can say, "Hey, Jeff, I blah blah that dirty negro... yahdy yahdy... spic, wop, cracker."

I keep reading more until there were no more comics... it's witty! I don't think your jokes are racist but if they are, all the better, because it's offensive and wrong and fun. The art is repetitive but oh well, there's usually some new element to make it interesting. Anyway this is cool and I wanna see more!!

I agree that the art is a bit bland. The humor is a little Penny Arcade for my liking (the sarcastic roomates thing is so very, very tired), but some of the strips are really funny. I give it a tentative "Woo!".

I noticed your pimping. I just didn't post to the forums and wrote psychotic fan mail instead. The "racist" comic made me laugh like a mad thing for fifteen minutes, and then I pimped it to all my friends. Total comic genius. As I said before, in my fanmail, while suffering hysterics.

Feh.

Congratulations...you've created a comic that's exactly like half the stuff on the Internet.

At least you resisted the temption to have god say "fuck" or worship the devil or something...although I suspect that's coming soon enough.

That was a much better response than I expected.

I normally prize modesty over all other traits, and I don't think my comic is particularly fantastic, but after browsing keenspace and seeing all the crap (furries), my own confidence was bolstered.

The art is bad because I really can't draw. At all. But I am good with photoshop. My hope is that I'll get better with time, but that means practice, which equals more comics with similar art. I've also been really busy of late, so I've cheated with the last few comics and re-used character models where I could.

Also, it's not supposed to be edgy. Or racist. But I'll admit that I do find racism funny, because it makes no sense to me. I've been tripped up in the past making jokes that people took the wrong way.

I also don't intend to be constantly hammering away with pop-culture. I mean, my personal favourite of my own comics is the "Art" one, and I'd like to have a lot more like that. But all too often I'll read some bit of music news and a comic will just pop, fully formed, into my head. It's hard to say no to your imagination.

And Slopes is a real person. He gave himself the nickname. Nobody actually uses it in real life, but he'd prefer to keep his real name, etc, private.

I donno, I've had my mom, and she was pretty awesome...

OK...not bad. I don't know that I would use many extreme adjectives for it; "unusually good" might work if it was stacked against many other webcartoons. I like the writing more than the art; it's intelligent without being too wordy, a tough tightrope to walk. I like your palette for this strip more than the art itself. It's readable...good show.

The coloring and shading style is clean and nice looking. As for writing and story, it's still pretty early to tell, but it's on the right track. One thing to consider is the possibility of crafting a longer story line. Nothing epic like a 20 pager, but maybe over the span of a 5 or so strips. Also consider adding more characters, maybe a few that aren't so sarcastic all the time.

The characters also need a larger range on emotion and gesture, the chracters are just standing around much of the time while talking. Real people touch their faces and look aroud while conversing. Some people also shuffle their feet and use crazy hand gestures. Watch people next time you go out and bring a sketchboook.

I really love reading the advice given to others on this site. It's helping me with my comic and it's not even up yet!

Just cusious Sam, why don't you use the Keenspace autoupdater? Unless you are, I just haven't seen the dates set up like xx-xx-xx, usually their xxxxxxxx. just the numbers nothing else. If you don't know about the autoupdater you might want to look into it, it's pretty damn useful.

The navigation is a bit difficult, I look at the page yesterday and now I wanted to read the whoile thing from theb beggining, but I was lazy and didn't check the archive (which I did just as I wrote that). Keenspace has some pretty useful things you might want to learn about.

Unless you know of them and decided to go your own way, also a good plan =]

I spent some time working out how to disable the auto updater.

I just can't be bothered learning a bunch of tags specific to keenspace, even if at the end I get some sort of massive payoff. I can do what I want to do right now with my HTML skills.

The only thing I'm interested in right now is if keenspace has some kind of hit counter that only I can view (I'm not interested in displaying it on my comic, I'd just like to have some idea of the sort of traffic I'm getting).

As for navigation, I'm not a fan of the first-previous-next-last setup. I'll probably put a link to the archive down between the arrows at some point in the near future.

I'm enjoying the feedback though.
