War of Winds: 100 pages!

Post by Warofwinds »

Haha! Another reason to lay on some pimpage!

http://warofwinds.keenspace.com

The War of Winds is a graphic novel type project updated bi-weekly with full-color pages. It's heavily fantasy-action-advention at the moment, and probably has more text than most people (myself included) would like. It is also very much plot oriented without a lot of humor, though the past three pages have been an exception (drunken dancing, yay!). There is a lot of territory to cover in the story, not only geographically, but also socially and spiritually--including different species (humanoid and not), tribes, objects imbued with power (I hesitate to use the word "magic," because science has a role) and inner growth.

The story itself focuses a lot on decisions and consquences, and the need for human redemption. You jump right into the plot from the very beginning, more than you would realize, so pay attention. But, if you do click on that link in my sig, please DO read the introduction? It's very important.

Here are a few sample links to check to see if you generally like what's going on in the story:

As a note, I was very much a beginner art-wise when I started this, so I went back and redrew the first 8 pages. When the quality of art suddenly drops, you've come to the original, though it quickly picks back up again. Also, I'll be out of town this weekend, and won't be able to update--but I'll be back next week!

A century is no mean feat for anybody, really. Top job.
Remember when your imagination was real? When the day seemed
longer than it was, and tomorrow was always another game away?

Wow, I love the art and the colors. I haven't read much yet but it's already book-marked. When I've had time to read more I may have something else to say. Keep up the good work.

I have to say i'm only 5 or pages deep into the comic and I can already tell theres a ton of thought and creativity put into this. The colors are awesome and the artwork is top notch but I think story/plot is the strongest attribute. Keep it up!

(Gah, I didn't want to reply until I had something new on the site and now that my laptop's fixed, that can be arranged *rubs hands together evilly*)

I'm so glad you guys liked the art! I've been slaving (well, if you can call pigging out on goldfish and watching Star Trek "slaving") on my drawing pad for the past months hoping the art would match the level of what I had in mind for the story. Hehe, now I just have to make sure the story is up to par  Jinoku, I hope you read more, but thanks for checking out the beginning anyways. Soliloquy, thanks for bookmarking!

Anyone else?

(BTW, Jinoku, you need one more "t" in the http of your link ;))

I did continue reading and it met my expectations, thus earning a bookmark. :D Now to wait for the Talon vs Ravar scene to play out. Also thanks for pointing out my missing 't'. 8)

Yay! *fist-pump* Another poor soul is caught in my evil pl--- umm. nevermind that. Anyways, the Talon/Ravar scene isn't quite as pummelling as it should be (still trying to build character a bit before I get to the all-out fight ;)) but their confrontation is coming up, have no fear. Their scuffles keep me up chuckling late at night....
...damn. I need a life.

Anywho, I checked out YOUR comic, and I'm loving it. It's like a mixture of all my favorite anime. Keep up the good work!
