Fallen Angels Used Books Issue 7 Complete!

Post by Faub »

Issue 7, Sylvester's Adventure is done.

http://www.faubcomic.com/d/20050114.html <-- Start of the storyline

Sylvester is a writer leading a reasonably calm life in the city of Florissant. His mind twists and bubbles with epic fiction waiting to but secured onto a surface of wood pulp and glue. One day, a day like any other day, he went to see a friend and pick up a book. Instead, a young girl followed him home and he spent the evening learning that fiction need not reside solely in one's head. In the sleepless days and nights that followed, Sylvester would be given a series of profound revelations that would turn his world upside down and reveal a hidden world not very far from our own.

Best damn thing on the web, as far as I'm concerned.

Very nice! The detail used is excellent and the length is very commendable. You may want to try mixing pen and pencil just to get some really good contrast but thats just me. Keep it up.

I need to keep reminding myself to finish your comic. It's so amazing *_*. How long does each page take you?

Pages take roughly 12 hours when I have time to do them. I'm sitting on a penciled cover and unable to ink because I'm moving around so much this week. :( I tried posting the pencils and they didn't take so I'm just waiting.

I did do the pencil/ink thing for issue 5. I quickly found that the pencil got overwhelmed by the ink so I've been using ink washes to make up for that. I don't erase so occasionally you'll see some pencil texture mixed with the washes.

For the month of August, I'm doing an experiment with straight ink, erasing the pencil lines. I'm adding tones in GIMP for a print version (it'll be grayscale online). So far, it's quite fun but I think the ink washes lend themselves to more complex shading than CG tones do.

Sounds cool...looing foreward to seeing how that technique comes out.

Wow, that sounds really tedious. Patience must be your middle name XD.
