Girl/girl soap opera comic-manga style

Post by AnnaAngel »

I'm a bit into chapter 2 now, so I thought I'd post here.

Moonlight Feathers is a yuri (girl/girl) soap opera basically. Drama, some humour. And the first chapter has an almost ridiculous amount of sex

And if anyone has any suggestions for how to set up the table on the main page with the tagboard and calendar better, I'd welcome them ^^; Besides that, I'm pretty happy with the layout.

... which direction are you supposed to read it? Right to left or left to right?

...

Call me stupid, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Mmkay. *reads archives* I like it... but... the... *progression* of the story seems a bit... hard to follow at times. As if I'm looking at, in the frames, moments of the characters lives that dont' *quite* happen right after each other; it's as if there are a few frames missing in the action of each page...

Not that that stopped me -- I am a member of one of what is probably your largest reader demographic -- young males. :D

Hm, that's interesting, I've never heard that before. I think I know what you mean though. Sometimes I do feel like I'm skipping over stuff a bit.

Glad to hear it didn't stop ya though :D

Hmmm, not enough sex in that first chapter...

+:
Story could be good, but as said, it could go slower. The talks need a little more nuance, you know? You descrive the characters a bit in your rants, that's the kind of thing that could be in ther actual comic.

-:
Drawings are a little strange. For a comic with so much bare skin it'd probably be best to practice anatomy as much as possible. I realize there's a japanese influence, so you probably don't want to do the eyes too realistically, but still, those are some big peepers.

Your page layout+ composition is super and you have done a steller job on the backgrounds. (however I'm not so fond of Annabelle's face- her eyes might be a bit too* big, they look kind of "streched" to me- the rest of your characters look fine.)

Something else I thought was good was the use of detail in your comic- everything is so lovingly rendered! :D you never seem to cut corners.
The colored "covers" are a nice touch

Just fix up a few proportion issues and you will be ready to rock!

*talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Mr. Caravaggio, I know what you mean about the dialogue. I've never been very good at it and I always seem to want to write it so that it explains everything. I'm trying to work on that though.

mimo, thanks so much for the compliment on the details :D

Yeah, I kinda thought the eyes would come up here... a couple of people already have told me her eyes are too big and square. I refuse to change them though, I love her the way she is <3 I just hope it doesn't bug people too much because a lot of the other characters that haven't shown up yet have similar eyes ^^;

Actually the eyes are not unusual for some styles of manga. I've seen larger ones in "professional" works. I myself have never really liked huge eyes though.
