Chaos Chronicles

Post by Spectre_General »

Well, I just finished the intro storyline to my comic, so I figured I stick it here and see what happens.

I'm really not an artist: I'm a writer. But I needed to do this story, so meh. Comments are helpful.

Oh, and if adventure sci-fi isn't your thing, there's another comic off of the art page that's more humour oriented.

Well, like you said...the art could use work. But then again, you're just a beginner and really, I have to applaud your nerve in taking on a more complex story and art. A lot of people who haven't had much practice drawing and yet want to start a strip don't even try to push themselves...they just do stick figures or something.

I also quite liked the story. There wasn't a lot to it, but I'm interested to see what might happen should it continue...

Thanks for the encouraging words! Anyone else?

I just posted the fifteenth update. If we counted in increments of 60, as we do in minutes, than I'd have a quarter of a hour's worth of comics up!

The art is functional and does its job. You can tell the difference between characters and what they're supposed to be doing, which is important if you're going to do a lot of action sequences. If you wanted somethig to work on in the art department, I'd say you should use a little more line variation. Right now you seem to have a medium line thickness for just about everything that you draw. Changing it up would add a lot more zing to the artwork.

I really liked the action sequence at the beginning. Really well handled both in terms of panel arrangement and composition, especially considering how much was going on. I think it's cool that you resisted the urge to do anything overly flashy and just let the action speak for itself.

Nice work overall. :)

Hmm, say. For someone who's not an artist, you do a pretty good job of illustrating. If you're worried about the art, though, maybe you could find someone to recruit to do the drawing instead? Plus, even if you've got the whole thing planned, he/she might come up with an idea or two. And it's always good to have a partner in crime ^^.

I like your art. You've got a nice style and I agree with the above review, your action sequences are very good. You are just into the story and I've got no doubt your art is going to improve. Keep up the good work.
As far as your writing, there really isn't enough of it to judge. You do a good job with dialogue and I'll keep checking back to see how the story evolves. Overall, I like what I see.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and tips. Overall this project is going much better than I had expected. No readers, but no worries!

Anyway, now if I can only figure out how to draw women...
