Over 100 readers! 8D

Post by Wrathofautumn »

Hey guys! What's up? That's right. I'm alive and kicking. My comic's doing well too. So well that, I just learned that my comic broke over 100 readers for just one day! That's over 100 readers I know who read my comic! Isn't that just plain awesome?!

Hmmm...how shall I celebrate this...Hmm...suggestions anyone?

Insane. Did you advertise anywhere? I know most people will complain if you try to promote a new webcomic. It really sucks :(

Keep up the good work! Don't let your readers lose interest. :)

When I was in Japan, I got to try fish ice cream! It wasn't as bad as you'd think, but I wouldn't want to eat it every day if you know what I mean!

You mean this isn't the first time it's been posted? Hmm...well, I've heard of stuff like Sea Salt Ice Cream(Though since it was in KH2, I wonder if that's only fictional. XD)

btw, in the comic data, a visit counts as one person right? Or at least one site address? For example, 112 visits mean that at least 112 different computers had seen my comic that day.

Not necessarily. If someone loads your page from their computer and does so again several hours later, then it will count as two visits. I am not entirely sure how much time has to pass between request in order for it to count as two visits, but there is some threshold set in the analysis configuration.

Umm... assuming I understand how it works. It might just be voodoo.

Awwww, man. And I thought I had something to celebrate. So what exactly in the comic data does count as one person? Is it sites?

Even if you have 100 visits or actually 100 people visiting your site on a certain day does not make them official readers.

For me, official readers are the average of visits you get per day out of say.... a month. I get an average of about 70-100 readers on a monthly basis. My actual readers that I consider for certain, are the ones who are vocal. Fanmail, shoutbox comments, etc mark that your comic can generate enough interest for feedback. However, some people have a large silent following of readers.

There is no actual way to count your exact readership.

i think if you have a steady level of visits over the course of a month.. a year... however long it is, you can assume that to be your readership. Vocal readers can be a different issue, not everyone who reads your comic is going to comment on a tagboard or a forum or e-mail, but it does happen, that vocal minority is usually very interesting.

The first day my comic was up I had 200 visits, of course I'm sure there was no way that 200 people at mysteriously stumbled upon my comic! A lot of it could be because of errors. Did you place your counter in the right spot? And I asked before but you ignored it, did you advertise?

Oh, well, I did advertise on a few sites outside Comicgenesis, if that's what you meant. :P

I mostly advertise my webcomic in forum signatures and such - and I think I'm averaging about 30 visits....

PER MONTHS

but to me hit stats doesn't really matter that much to me - its more important for me to just make the comic and be happy with that, than to have people actually looking at it.

that being said, I will note that I do dream of the day when I get a lively forum community developed around the webcomic.
