iTableTop... Vort I'm looking your way.

Post by [AlmightyPyro] »

Have y'all heard of this? It's a virtual "table" to play pen and paper rpg's on. I've heard of other programs like this that all seem to suck, bhis little charm looks pretty kickin' though, what with the ability to use the whiteboard for notes or full out mapping, being able to upload PDF's and Websites to you "table" for all the players to use for reference, and the ability to add your own images for maps and objects that you can add triggers that play music and even videos for cut scenes. I'm excited to say the least. I'm planning on trying it out and maybe buying a DM account, but like so many others I can't play it on my laptop because the program doesn't work on 64bit systems. So new vista users that weren't lucky enough to get a 32bit version are going to have to wait until there's a fix for it, but every one else should try it out. If this thing proves as good as it sounds we could upgrade the IRC games that Vorticus and others put on to iTableTop and with all the artist in our community we could have some really neat maps and characters. It's really everything I could ask for for a online table top rpg game.
But then again, like I said, I can't try it out yet. I have to rebuild my desktop before I'll have a 32bit windows to run it on, but I have high hopes. Maybe one of you-ins could give it a run and let us know if it's worth it.

iFind it a little annoying that they're using the "put a lowercase 'i' in front of your product name" Mac gimmick, but it's only available for windows.

The link doesn't work for me :( . I use this http://rptools.net/doku.php when I can get it working with my router. I don't use it for all my games, just the ones with lots of combat rules for positioning.

Oh shoot. I was signed on when I saved the link. :P This link should work though.

I really like iTableTop because it's completely rule unbiased and it's really easy to pick up and go. I do agree though, the whole lowercase i trend really upsets me. I saw an electric fan in walmart the other day that was called an iFan and I almost punched an old lady next to me.
