So I played a bit of Guitar Hero World Tour and I had a few critiques about it but one in particular more than any oher. See plenty of the songs featured have a great deal of down time for different instruments which doesn't lend itself to the group play appeal of the genre. It got me thinking about what songs would be appropriate for these games and if some of the greats need to sit the band out in favor of exclusive guitar only ventures. This leads me to the topic at hand.
For instance my favorite Metallica song is "One" which features a hell of a lot of guitar and drum action but the singer won't be doing too much in comparison, so I'm thinking it wouldn't fare well in this setting.
..and to answer my own question, my favorite song is "Gravedancer" by Velvet Revolver, whole lot of activity by all instruments involved, so I think it'd do fine.
Would your favorite song be good for Rockband/World Tour?

A lot of the old time rock and roll would be good for this game.
Huey Louis and the News comes immediately to mind.

Haven't played any of these games, but PJ Harvey isn't a particularly wanky guitar player so I don't think she'll work.

do some crass songs where everyone in the band is making the same motion for two point five minutes. I'm sure that just make me loose friends. ha ha.

My favorite song apparently already is good enough: "I Think I'm Paranoid" by Garbage.

Ooooooh, nice. Glad to hear it's not wall-to-wall Aerosmith.

My crazy industrial metal has no place in these games.

i'm more into dark-wave and i don't have a favourite song right now.
oh, i have one, but it's german folk, so double no-no.
i'd use the shift key but i have to hold my cat with one hand and type with the other.

The best song in RB2 is clearly "Anyway you want it."
