I get so much done in my dreams.

Post by The Way »

Last night:

I successfully averted a huge shootout catastrophe between my gang and another one (I have no doubt this was because I spent the entire day prior reading No Nonsense Self Defense). I basically had to draw my gun first and warn them off. No deaths! But the gun I pulled out was seriously kickass and scary. I should draw it.
My girlfriend's best friend finally made up for hating me for no reason (honest).
My 13 year old friend started a blog and her sister and I made fun of her for it.
I hung out with my girlfriend, all the while keeping her safe from said gang activities.
I flew a ROCKET. And then I told an old friend of mine (he was in the dream, just a dream character) about it and he was like "AWESOME!" and then he flew a rocket too.
I went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and suddenly realized that my mom had given me a haircut while I was SLEEPING. For some reason I was also wearing a green headband. But, she gave me a green mouth-mask-scarf-thing too, so I could wrap that around my nose and mouth and look very intimidating and ninja, despite the fact that it was brightest of greens.
Then, in the bathroom, I started conversing with small little green cartoon men that were outside my door. We were saying stuff about 5's (rated 5 content, whatever?), and I kept seeing flashes of these dudes in just, screenshot boxes. They were really interesting, and I'm sure if I tried to redraw them in the cartoony way they were drawn, I could have an animated series on my hands.

But then I woke up. :(

What'd you do last night (in your dreams)?

First, I fell.
Then I led an epic rebellion against an evil empire.
Is it just me, or do comic artists have overly active subconcious minds?

I think I blame Okami for my dream, even though I haven't played it in a few weeks.

First I dreamed that I and some friends were having a contest to see who could whirlwind the petals off some flowering trees the best. The person who could blow off the most petals and keep them swirling was the winner. We would just blow on them with our mouths, and a huge gale of wind would come up over our heads and shake the petals off. Then I dreamed that there were a pair of BIG raven-sized blue falcons had just hatched an egg and were trying to get the newborn to fly, but it had lost part of its wings (they were real birds- they looked like it...but for whatever reason their wings were designed like mechanical ones, where the main feathery portion of the wing was inserted into an armature at the top). I collected the spare parts of the wings and the little bird and made for a house, but there was a strange yellow dog thing in the way....it was kind of like a cross between a fox and a dingo. And it kept grinning and snapping at me. Eventually I managed to get past it and slipped inside to repair the baby bird. I went outside to return it, but the dog thing was still there and tried to attack...so I hit it with a golf club I had gotten from the house's garage. It was very ashamed after that and followed us. I think I returned the bird to its nest, but for some reason the dream switched over to a winter scene with all of us traveling by dogsled. Falcons, weird fox-dog thing, and friends.

*cracks his knuckles*
I suck at remembering dreams, but this one always sticks with me

I'm a hitman, and I've been hired to escort this girl to safety. I run around killing things and being heroic. Then, in a tower, I get in an elevator. For some reason, my stop is the middle of a suburban street. Whatever. I deliver the girl. Mama says thanks, and just goes inside without so much as a small reward.
I am annoyed
I shoot out all the windows in the house. But I've pissed off the cops now. Luckily, I missed that ski lift to the left of me. I hop in, and suddenly I realize I'm surrounded by the cast of Saving Private Ryan. They're talking about a mission and stuff and I'm all "ok..."
Police helicopters circle the ski lift.
At least its... oh wait no, they jammed the lift, FUCK. The SPR group, having apparently just robbed a bank, open the door and bail out. I look out the door. ENDLESS ocean like a mile below me. The ski lift's cables go off over the horizon. Jumping into the ocean is the only way out. I look down. There's a reef. If I'm going to survive, I have to land in a tiiiiiny little inlet in the reef structure, since I can't jump further than that.
I jump.
At the last second "Oh shit I'm going to hit the reef"
I hit the reef, and fall through it.
Play Half life, turn on "noclip", and go through a wall, THATS what I saw.

THEN my mind was all "waaaaaaaaait, this isn't reaaaaaal"

And I woke up

mine are often semi-lucid, which sucks. I'm aware enough to know that I'm dreaming, which keeps me from getting too into the story, but I'm not aware enough to take control.

Lately all I dream about is breaking my laptop in various unlikely ways, and knowing that I'm doing it but still conjugating verbs poorly and being laughed at by people in the streets. Lame.

I rarely remember my dreams. I rarely even wake up with the feeling that I dreamt.

Ninja were trying to rob my house so I beat them to death with a crowbar. Then I cleaned my mice's cage.

I don't know why but I tend to dream about: violence, petcare, and zombies.

My dreams are unusually lucid sometimes. It's weird... almost like I'm playing the most perfect virtual reality game ever...
And then I wake up just before I defeat the evil demon sister dragon.

I actually dreamed for once while napping away this afternoon. My turtle got dehydrated, there was crap on TV, and some stupid made-up girlfriend of some stupid made-up friend of a not-so-made-up friend insisted on barging into the made-up place I was staying to watch said crap on TV. Also, all the other girls 'round town thought she was a bitch and a slut. At least she was kinda hot, I guess? Idk.

In other news, I napped like five hours and I'm still tired.

I always dream lucidly and almost always can 'wake up' in my dream and take control of it to some limited extent. I can also shut down a bad dream. (edit) I should say I assume I always dream lucidly - it's rare that I wake up and not remember having dreamed or having taken control of the dream.

I read a book on how to dream lucidly as a teenager, tried the stuff they suggested, and it worked. I can remember my dreams too. But if they were dull or nonsensical, I tend to forget them by mid-day.

It sucks. I get maybe two nights of good sleep a week. The rest of the week I wake up restless because I've been active in my dreams.

I have really awesome strange dreams but I usually can't remember them for very long unless I tell them to at least two people, or write them down. While I was on vacation I had a dream about a baby doll who was sometimes a real baby, but when it wasn't other people gave its parents strange looks for treating it like a real baby. I think at one point they left it in a closet while they went to the opera. It's possible I was babysitting it. It's also possible I was a small gray or black cat at the time.

I wrote a story that was somewhat inspired by it, except it was about a cat made of cornbread that sometimes moved around. I forget how I got that from the dream. When I was making up the story, at first it was a cat made of wood. Then it got more mixed up with the gingerbread man.

I had a lucid dream recently. I was playing D&D with some people. My friend Peaches was playing with us, and then I suddenly realized I hadn't seen him in years and it was awesome that he was there. So I started talking to him, and when he didn't say very much I realized I was dreaming, because Peaches talks a lot. So I wrapped up the conversation and went flying around for a while until I woke up.

I cant remember *any* of my recent dreams. Because for the last 2 weeks or so I've only been getting about an hour straight of sleep before I'm bolt upright in the night because of some freakin' nightmare. I am *POORLY RESTED*.

Green tea for what? Sleeping? I'd have to say, "probably no." For staying up? I'd say, "black tea is better, and coffee better still." For remembering dreams? I wouldn't know.

For getting yourself knocked out, I recommend benadryl, melatonin, or maybe both if you're sleeping really badly. Melatonin seems to have effects on dreaming, too, in that you might remember more of them. ...yes I have trouble sleeping sometimes. :shifty:

Careful about the Benadryl. If you OD on it (starting at about double the reccomended dose), or even take just the reccomended dose for long enough, one of the not often mentioned side effects that can occur is that the sphincter that lets urine out of your bladder clamps shut.

That means you get a *shudder* Foley Catheter. Take a tube as thick as your pinky, and thread it up your urethra to the bladder. It's... unpleasant. It's worse when it later has to come out. Remember, those tubes are elastic, and stretch before they move.

Be careful of using Benadryl as a sleep aid.
