George Carlin dies at 71
I...I don't know if this should go here or GD, but since I don't go to GD...it goes here.
June 22 marks the day that George Carlin left this world. He died of heart failure at 71. For everything he has done, he shall be remembered. Legends never truly die, they just live on in the memories of others.

It's...just surreal.

Well, even if he didn't believe in God, I'd like to think the big guy would let Carlin in if at least for his abridged version of the Ten Commandments. This is indeed sad news.

I first thought this was some sort of joke. But: http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/ ... 2520080623
RIP.
RIP.

man that sucks, he was probably my favorite comedian. I'm sad he won't be bitching about life anymore. Perhaps he's somewhere now bitching about death.

I think he'd be proud if he'd known you.

Heh, thanks. I always imagined he wouldn't like me much. O, optimism.

Re: George Carlin dies at 71
Man, it never even occurred to me that he could die. He always seemed more like the embodiment of syndical comedy than an actual person.

Re: George Carlin dies at 71
I got George's "Class Clown" album back in the early 70's and got in trouble over his "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" routine. My parents didn't seem to mind me listening to the seven words, they just objected to me bringing every other kid in the neighborhood in to listen to it.
Bye George. We'll miss you.

ReutersCarlin told Playboy in 2005 that he looked forward to an afterlife where he could watch the decline of civilization on a "heavenly CNN."

Good night, funnyman.

This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.

why does that last sentence make me imagine you shaking his hand... right before killing him and crossing him off your list?Guildmaster Van wrote:I think it's funny how people like Yeahduff mourn Carlin's death, yet talk about how juvenile and immature swearing is.
To these people I say the following: shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits. SHIT PISS FUCK CUNT COCKSUCKER MOTHERFUCKER AND TITS, GODDAMNIT
In any event, it's a bit of a piss off that Carlin is gone. He was one of my pseudo-intellectual heroes with other counter-culture greats like Thompson. Anton LaVey, Hunter Thompson and now George Carlin - some of the coolest people I'll never get to meet
Earth has lost a great mind, and Hell has gained a new leader.
Man, I really got to meet and shake the hand of Stan Lee before I add him to the list :O
