George Carlin dies at 71

Post by Laemkral »

I...I don't know if this should go here or GD, but since I don't go to GD...it goes here.

June 22 marks the day that George Carlin left this world. He died of heart failure at 71. For everything he has done, he shall be remembered. Legends never truly die, they just live on in the memories of others.

It's...just surreal.

Well, even if he didn't believe in God, I'd like to think the big guy would let Carlin in if at least for his abridged version of the Ten Commandments. This is indeed sad news. :(

man that sucks, he was probably my favorite comedian. I'm sad he won't be bitching about life anymore. Perhaps he's somewhere now bitching about death.

Heh, thanks. I always imagined he wouldn't like me much. O, optimism.

I think I'll reread Brain Droppings.

Man, it never even occurred to me that he could die. He always seemed more like the embodiment of syndical comedy than an actual person. :(

I got George's "Class Clown" album back in the early 70's and got in trouble over his "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" routine. My parents didn't seem to mind me listening to the seven words, they just objected to me bringing every other kid in the neighborhood in to listen to it.

Bye George. We'll miss you.

He's probably still bitching about life:
Carlin told Playboy in 2005 that he looked forward to an afterlife where he could watch the decline of civilization on a "heavenly CNN."

Man, I really got to meet and shake the hand of Stan Lee before I add him to the list :O
why does that last sentence make me imagine you shaking his hand... right before killing him and crossing him off your list?
