Towel Day 2008
A quick reminder slightly ahead of time that the 25th of May is officially Towel Day, in memory of the late Douglas Adams.
More information can be found at this website.
The basic idea is that once a year, as a mark of respect, you carry your towel with you wherever you go, all day, just for one day.
A towel has immense psychological value. I shall be camping this weekend, and with my trusty towel in hand, hopefully my fellows will automatically assume that I am also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc.
My fellows will then happily lend me any of these or a dozen other items that I might accidentally have "lost".
I will be taking pictures, and I expect you all to take pictures too.
For Douglas.

And I wouldn't want to go anywhere without my wonderful towel.

If this is anything like Talk Like A Pirate Day, I should be able to do this for two more years with everyone giving me odd looks, followed by a year where EVERYONE catches on.
When is it? Sunday? I'm in.

Well, there is a white sale going on where I work right now, which of course includes towels. I wonder how many people will buy one today.

Mother PUSS BUCKET. I forgot about this. I'm a bad hitcher, I was totally without my towel.

Re: Towel Day 2008

I thought this thread was going to be about going to work wearing just a towel...
