Drew Carey will present just about anything.
What I'm more sad about (although not really since I don't watch that show outside of sickdays anyway) is that they'll probably change the whole aesthetic of the show. The fun of "The Price is Right" is how it was eternally trapped in the 60's. It was a time-capsule of golden age TV fun. Now they'll glitz it up with a billion stage lights, cold modern sets and digital effects. The lo-fi made it FUN, damnit!

Hate to say it, but I agree with you here. The Neko wrote:Drew Carey will present just about anything.

As for Drew... Carey isn't a bad guy; I met him when I lived in Cleveland. He got upset the one time he guest-judged on American Idol because the crowd's vote wasn't counted and the producers chose their own person to take off. The guy has class and style.

honestly i find shows like that less surprising to be still on the air than some of the newer stuff. Cause really another season of American Idol is necessary.Kat North wrote:I'm a bit surprised that the show is still even on the air. Same with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

I'm glad Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy are still on the air. We need shows that make you think now more than ever.legostargalactica wrote:honestly i find shows like that less surprising to be still on the air than some of the newer stuff. I didn't mean that I wasn't glad they were still on...those were the two game shows I grew up on; I especially like Wheel of Fortune!
I don't really like many of the new game shows that I've seen. The only one that I do enjoy is 'Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader' and even it is too commercialized..."We'll find out the right answer...Right after the break!"

Oh I know. Deep down I'm kinda surprised that a show like Jeopardy is still on given what most of TV is like. But it doesn't compete with prime time, so it's not really an issue.
Are you smsrter than a 5th grader is funny, but most of those kids are gonna forget a lot of that stuff when they have to focus on their chosen career and pay bills and deal with everyday life. Then, their children that don't have jobs and don't put food on the table are gonna laugh at them for not being smart.

Hah! Bruce Forsyth should shoot on over there and unleash his Brucie Bonus right in Drew Carey's face. That'd sort things out.
And then, with a rolling sweep of his cape and a masterful twiddle of his moustache, he shall ascend mysteriously up into the rafters where he will make good his escape, unseen, behind a veil of darkness. He shall then go forth into the night once again, on his undying crusade to delight viewers of saturday evening light entertainent with his quick-fire comfortable wit, whimsical quips and cheeky chappy antics.
It was nice to see him...
To see him nice.

I like Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader, and I still like So you want to be a Millionaire. I also like Greed. Any show that really requires you to use your brain in some way, and get paid for it.Kat North wrote:I didn't mean that I wasn't glad they were still on...those were the two game shows I grew up on; I especially like Wheel of Fortune!
