Here's something different - McDonalds food around the world

Post by Rkolter »

Saw this mentioned on Neatorama and thought I'd post it here - foods unique to different countries that McDonalds serves:

I think I'd try a LOT of these if they were available in the US.

Malta has a habit of stealing another country's speciality as a bonus, eg the Greek Mac was around here a bit. There's a constant cycle of specialities here, the popular ones get to stay. Right now Malta is States crazed, and so each week we have a new States based burger, eg, the Mc Miami, or Mc Texas.

(weird side note) I dreamed last night that I decided to become a citizen of Malta; it was the ultimate paradise destination (and oddly, an island only three miles long). Beth went along with the plan, and we avoided paying any of our credit card bills by moving there. It was pretty cool.

when I was in Bangjkok, they had a tastey burger that was a Kimau burger. God that was a good burger. it was filled with basil and garlic and chilis. Made me forget how bad McDonald food is.

The whole island's area is only 121 square miles, so you're not wrong imagining its small :P Although I admit that it does sound like an awesome dream.

The bulgogi burger is nasty. Real bulgogi is also cow, but for some reason they think pork is a fab idea. Wut? WUT? It is...weird. The shrimp burger I got on accident and gave to my sister, and she seemed to like it I guess.

The McBingsoo is the best thing I have ever had at any Maccers. Ever. Shaved ice ftw.

There's another chain there that serves bizzarre korean foods as well, I distinctly remember attempting to eat a squid burger and failing. Folks, it does not taste like calamari or dried squid at all :<~

I'd complain about other countries getting better selection but I haven't eaten at a Mcdonalds in years.

I was going to say, I ate one of those in Maine once upon a time. I recall that it tasted... ok. But it wasn't a premium quality sandwich.

You can also grab the Teriyaki burger and Katsu burger in Hawaii.

I really want to try some of these other ones, though.

For me the pinnacle of fast food is still a grilled chicken foot-long sub from subways with all the trimmings, the cheesy bread, and honey mustard plus mayo.

I think I drooled a little.

Damn! Now I actually kinda regret not going to A McD's in Chile! I kinda want to see palta on a cheesburger. But I tried to avoid that sort of thing like the plague....okay, except for the time we ordered Dominos pizzas right after getting back from weeks in the Andes. But we were SO TIRED of cilantro flavored stews! D:
