I can't presently remember if I brought this up here last time it was an issue, but my grandfather has cancer. This has been a major thing for my family over the last few months, but recently we thought things were getting better. This weekend has proven otherwise. He went into the hospital with pneumonia and discovered he was suffering from some other things as a result of the cancer and the surgery that removed most of it earlier.
the doctor wrote:He has an infection, he is very ill because of a serious infection in his intestines. The CT Scan showed no gangrene at this time, but there was some thickening in the bowel. He is not strong enough for surgery, and he is getting antibiotics for his infection. There are giving him fluids to keep his temperature (presently 100 degrees) down, he has no kidney problems, and he is holding his own. It is not clear what the underlying problem is, but they feel that he has septic from the cancer and they are treating that with antibiotics. He is out of immediate danger now, and stable, but he is very weak and ill and never bounced back from the surgery as they had hoped he would. He has sepsis from the colon cancer. Sorry that this is so sketchy, but I just jotted down notes.
Basically, I'm asking that if you pray, you'd say a couple for my grandfather. He certainly needs it.
I've been praying recently (to what I don't know- I'm agnostic), and will include your grandfather in them.
EDIT: If you don't mind, could you PM or post your real name? I think my prayer would be more effective that way. Saying "Please look after Noise Monkey's grandfather" sounds a little silly. If you're not comfortable doing so, I understand. I'll just make do.
minor clarification/correction. turns out that the pnuemonia was just an initial diagnosis and was simply misinterpreted symptoms of the infection I mentioned earlier that was caused by a problem with his intestines not coming back "online" after the surgery to remove the cancer there (and was probably complicated by weakness due to the effects of the chemo).
I would like to thank everyone for the prayers and well-wishes. I really appreciate them and I'm sure I don't deserve it.

Hey. it doesn't matter if you feel you deserve it or not. everyone here thinks you do, and those weell wishes and prayers are given freely. beleive it or not, people care, even if they may not have ever met you.
Personally, I find that comnforting. I'm gonna keep praying for you and your family, that whatever is best happens.
