Oopsie, wasn't supposed to find that.

Whilst googling my own name (as everybody does from time to time), I came across the most oddly unsettling thing I've seen on the internet for some time.
It was a webpage. Specifically, it was a webpage, with nothing really on it apart from my internet psuedonim: Rickford.
Then I noticed the domain name. It was my real first name, and my ex-girlfriend's surname.
Try googlin yer own name, and you too have the chance to find things you were never meant to see...

Fortunately my real name is common enough that I don't have to worry too much about creepy internet stalkers!

I am disappointed that this thread did not contain the further adventures of Stinky and Nanda's daughter.
As for a self-Google, nothing terribly unusual concerning my name. Although I was a bit surprised I showed up on a "recent alumni donor" page for my university before my comic (second page).
Aha, but if I use Tim instead of Timothy, I'm 4 of the first 5 links. The first is (surprise, surprise) timvolpe.com, a Chicago tech consultant.

Daniel T Willingham is an associate professor of cognitive psychology and neuroscience at the University of Virginia.
He wrote a book called Cognition: The Thinking Animal. I would like to read it.

I just end up with that "Did you mean (spelled wrong)" that ends up as a search for a gay porn star.

Me too! But I wasn't going to say anything... I didn't wanna be, you know, "that guy."
Google Nanda and you get a lot on Siddhartha's brother, the first Buddhist.

Google my full name and there's a few things from my college years.

I have found two main other mes. One is a Captain in either the Air Force or Marine Corp. I can't figure out from his uniform, but he's not Army because I already checked Army records. The other is big time computer person/video gamer.
I am like a mixing of the two, which is rather weird.

Ditto. Though apparently there's someone with my real name teaching at some institute in Germany... or something... I can't really tell what the site says...

According to Google I am at the same time a champion college football player and someone who wrote a dissertation on
"An Eigenvalue solution of the Helmholtz Equation with Arbitrary Two-Dimensional Boundaries using Finite element Methods with Application to Electromagnetic Waveguides".
I can only assume they are the same guy.

No one else has my name, so only I come up. I like googling friends though.

My name brings up astronomy

. The chances of me actually finding a real person, let alone myself are pretty low.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person still living who has my name. At least that's what google suggests.

Well, "Robby" is a Greek search engine
My full name brings up a porn story (Roberto Dicosta for those of you who are lonely and bored)
...holy shit... there's like a database of Dicostas
http://static.namesdatabase.com/names2/D/I/Dicosta.html
Roberto Alesandro, that's me! Who... Who's Hitler Dicosta?
My name also showed up on this page apparently

i have a fairly unique name, googling my name mostly results in stuff about my page or related to my page and stuff relating to my father, and then a bunch of stuff in serbian.

Me too!
...also, my name is unique alright, I pretty much only find stuff relating to my comics when googling it. Most of the entries refer to my dead and no longer available online comic though. Bugger.
