CG Fighter Finished! (3000th post)

Post by Vorticus »

3000 posts is a bit of a mile stone. For mine I'm doing something no one on the forums has done before: Announcing the completion of a CG game. CG Fighter 1.0 is done!

Instructions, screen shots, and other blah can be found here
Game download can be found here (dial-up warning! the file is 6 megs and sorry no Mac version)
If you just need the new files and not the game engine here (3 megs)

Characters, Backgrounds, and Items can still be added to the game. I will continue to work on them intermittently and release them on the wiki site. If you have someone you'd like to see included: Please post a name, reference picture, and a special attack or 3 you want the character to have.

*applauds*

A day we all thought would never happen. The CG Fighting game finished! It took a couple years for some one to do it fully but it worked! HOORAY!!

*gives a billion cookies to Vort.*
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

I have a feeling I'll be buying either an emulator or an Intel Mac with Boot Camp just to play this thing.

I could certainly sway your decision by adding you now couldn't I?

A suggestion: could you include just the CG-specific files in a zip, so I wouldn't have to download the whole game engine twice?

Also, I'd like to be included, but I'd like to see what's been done so far to get an idea of what can be done...plus the scrounging up of time to work on the art and stuff.

Added a download for art assets only. Thanks for the suggestion Tim.

Special moves are a bit limited with this game engine, but the list is on the wiki page. I know, I know, lazy people but I've already typed and posted it once.

It's about now I wish I had some high quality compression tools. Would make it much easier on the dial up people.

Have you checked your controller settings?

Sorry this wasn't mentioned before. To keep the game size reasonable for the dial up people, the backgrounds and characters that stage mode depends on were removed. Hence the not being able to go. The part that works is VS. mode, the rest I make no guarantees.
