Ebaum's world, run by Eric Bauman, has been attacking fellow artists and internet goers by stealing their work and making mnoey off of it... around $6000 a day.

And yeah I agree this is pretty far out of hand I personaly have not been attacked/affected by Mr. Bauman, but I am deeply offended at what he's done and I'm doing my best to spread the word. The fact that he ameks money off of other people's work like this literally sickens me... so I want to to be directly related to him making less money in any way I can.

I was gonna say that such content thievery was par for the course (I've been looking for an excuse to use that phrase, "par for the course," for some time now), but I'd agree that eBaum's appears extra-bastardly...like the DDoS on Something Awful (whoa, I accidentally typed "Something Positive" at first, whoops), the blatant re-branding of things, refusing to take things down when caught, etc. I mean, while lots of places steal content I don't think most of them are *that* bad. (Then again, I don't really concern myself with any of those places. I don't go to eBaum's because it takes a million years to load anything anyway.

I found this while reading the wiki article. It's funny in more ways than one I think...poor Lindsay <shrug>.

Heh, yeah I am a common goer of ytmnd (which is where I heard of a lot of this) so I've seen that Lindsey Lohan ytmnd. There was another version with her looking really weird... I thik it was more funny. Or maybe I'm thinking of Paris Hilton doesn't change facial expressions....

This eBaum's World sounds evil. And it appears that all of the Fark, SA, and similar sites have declared war on it.

Anyway, I can't help but point out that YTMND has claimed that eBaum's World has stolen their Lindsay Lohan gif and put their own watermark on it while YTMND is alreay stealing from someone else, using someone else's copyrighted photographs to make it.

But you ALSO have to realize that YTMND didn't simply toss down the photographs, put their stamp on them, and say "look what we did". They created, from those existing photographs a NEW item. It had an express purpose and was used to make a comical point.
They didn't merely copy the photos as their work. EBaums, however, took the animation and did just that. They didn't create anything.

The only thing actions like these do is give more publicity to ebaum's world.

Lies. I didn't know they were stealing images, and now I know to boycott them. If anything, it reminded me to go take a look at the SA forums today.

That isn't all.... besides stealing this stuff,they've put a hidden little javascript function on each page so that each time someone viits it, three times the amount of traffic is sent over to the Something Awful forums.

Oh, and I hear he's done malicious things to image boards because they were 'against his beliefs' as my informer (my friend) said. He said that Bauman posted an image that could, literally and accurately be descibed as someone... (Note: Following text may be offensive to some users, so I made it asclose to the BG color of this post as I could. Select it to read better)

I like the court tv article which is in the wiki entry. Apparently, if they go to court, they are screwed win or lose because they can't afford the lawyer bills.

Me too. It always took too long for the page(s) to load for me (possibly the loading of Something Awful forums?). But yeah.

I agree. The more these people rail against ebaum's, the more fools go over there to check out what everyone is talking about.
