School Paper Strips

Post by Nicked »

Make or used to make comics for your school? I'd like to see 'em. So post them here. Here's what I think to be my three best of the year thus far.

i wasn't allowed to make school comics cause I was told they had to be about school and make school look fun

Never try to pass a cartoon making fun of school lunch...I guess the classics can die ._.

I write Pylon for the Drexel 'Triangle'. Although, I really started it much earlier, it was more of a thing I'd do in high school to not pay attention to the teachers, and then I just ran with it. Here's one of the more recent ones.

Publishing in a school newspaper? Hmm... I've never looked into that, and I am a little on the down-low that I even do a comic.

I did a few editorials comics and was the newspaper artist, but... I enjoyed writing the editorial more. Nothing says satisfying like centerpage top story that says "f%$$ school."

Didn't they know I was a sensitive artiste? ;_;

I used to draw a comic for my college rag. I tended to get censored a lot and my editor often transcribed dialogue incorrectly. I did at one point intend to wreak bloody retribution upon those who had slighted me, but like most things I planned to do when finishing college, I never got around to it.

Wow,

The only strip I ever did for my school was in sixth grade.

So far, I've only been censored for this comic. Which is fine, cuz it's pretty crappy. http://photobucket.com/albums/a21/nicked/food.gif

Nah, I hated my school too much to ever have anything to do with anything.

And the school newspaper sucked cock.

I drew for highschool papers for a bit, but they were consistently losing my stuff so in the end, the issue would come out without any comic and then they'd claim that I never gave any... So I just stopped giving them stuff.

The things I do for college paper: Mostly illustrations but I sneak in a comic or two.

I drew a camera for an editorial comic and the principal thought I have purposely meant to make the camera look like a penis... If that's the case, I don't want to borrow any of her cameras. o.O

I didn't start drawing until after I got to college, and I went to a big state university so you had to be a real artist to get published in the school newspaper.

College Strips . . .

Post by Fading Aura »

I've had two comics in the local college newspaper, The Maneater. The first comic, if then else, is what I'm still working on and wasn't well received. My second comic was gag-a-day, making mountains out of mole hills and fun out of myself. I received positive feedback from that one. ;)

Here's a sample:

The days of yore. This is the same comic I have now. Except I know how to draw now. The text is small, so it's hard to read too.

Cartoons in 60 seconds. Yeahduff (second in command of the newspaper) would say, "draw something now" and I'd think of seomthing and do it in 60 seconds. This idea was based on 60 second gesture drawing we did in drawing class. This one is about technology and why it hates us.

I did make a comic for the school newspaper. A gag comic about high school life, actually. Called "Greenfield"

Pity I don't have them saved on this computer. I'll probably be ably to dig them up at Thanksgiving, but not before.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

Our school newspaper has some cartoons. They're usually not very funny. That's all I know about it.
