Zombies!
Zombies are, beyond question, very cool.
Cool zombie facts will be listed here.
In John Romero's Land of the Dead, there is a face-off between John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper. The two have not faced off since the Super Mario Brothers Movie (Leguizamo was Luigi, Hopper was King Koopa). So if halfway through the movie you start expecting Kaufman to call Cholo a "filthy plumber", now you know why.

There are lots of games that have zombies, but so far, no zombie games that are even anything like zombie movies.
No game I can think of has you wandering a near-deserted city / suburbs, looting and stockpiling while trying to outrun, avoid, or stave off zombies, simultaneously searching for other survivors to travel more safely, with makeshift pipebombs or molotovs, limited ammo, and barricade-friendly buildings awaiting a group of survivors to hole up in them.
Just Resident Evil survival horror stuff.
No authentic zombie stuff.
So sad. So very, very sad.
I would pay good money for the first zombie came to successfully present the feel of a real zombie movie, without being a totally-linear adventure game ordeal.

/me dials his voicemail
Hey guys, you've reached the voicemail box of Jed D, at the tone please - OH GOD ZOMBIES [muffled sound] [click]
I wish I had saved the message from my boss when he called. It was like five seconds of silence, then he called me an idiot and told me where the job was for the day.

LOOK I JUST WANT TO EAT PEOPLE OKAYmcDuffies wrote:All you'll get is understanding Hannibal Lecter.Sortelli wrote:Zombies like to eat people. I think we should strive to understand them by eating people a little ourselves.
In order to understand zombies, you need to eat people who are more alive than you are. Or maybe dead people?
You should respect my unique world view. Fascist.

What I don't get about zombies, is how they can operate their limbs fairly well. You'd think that rotting in the ground would totally slow the ol' motor processing skills.
As for good zombie games, what about Zombies Ate My Neighbors? You could throw corndogs!

Just remembered an awesome zombie game.
Survival Crisis Z.
(scroll down)
Yeah, it's shareware. Worth 10 bucks, though. At least, it was for me.
Stockpiling, looting, finding other survivors... it works pretty well. Plus there's a shitload of zombies.
Closest zombie game to zombie movie I could possibly find.

As Mr. Bob's official Minister of the Living Dead, I feel as if I should comment on this.
Good: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead 2004, 28 Days Later*, Shaun of the Dead
Mediocre: Land of the Dead, Resident Evil
Bad: Night of the Living Dead 1991 (?), Day of the Dead, Resident Evil Apocalypse
*Not an official zombie movie as stated by the creators, but screw them.

No, ghouls drink blood. Am I the only person here who's seen Hellsing? geez...Jim North wrote:But then you'd be a ghoul, which is similar but not quite the same.
