Holy crap I'm a finalist!

...And not on the price is right!

Seriously, I recently found out that a radio commercial I did for one of my classes has been selected as a finalist in the Radio Mercury Awards. This absolutely blows my mind.

You can listen to all the student finalists here, and mine's the one at the bottom.

I know the student category isn't nearly so glamourous as the $100,000 main prize, but still--this is pretty sweet. I could bag twenty five hundred bucks and all kinds of opportunity here. I'm not about to sneeze at that.

I'm giddy.

Congratulations! Don't forget my cut. I'll figure out something it might be for later.

Woot! Money is always good, especially when you don't have to kill people for it.

That's awesome. Being recognized for good work always makes one feel good. Hope you get 1st but even if you don't just making it that far is quite an accomplishment. Good job.

LOL!

I love it! Which voice is yours?

Mine's the first voice. Not RJ.

Note that my real voice doesn't sound like that; I had to resample the clips to get it to fit a 30-second spot.
