Well, I guess that answers the question of what people without comics put in their signatures...

Holy crap those enormous page-long signatures are an eye-sore. I would question why people do that, but then I suppose after reading that thread that it's kind of moot. :-?

Their "talking avatar" posting style is kind of cute...if the signatures didn't make everything look so confusing.

My question is, how the hell does the server hosting that not crash. I mean, if one 3500 reply thread crashed GD here.....

*scrolls down the list*

HOW THE HELL do they have a 372354 reply thread??!!

Oh God... I used to post there. I USED TO POST.

Actually it wasn't as bad back when. Still extremly retarted and little roleplaying whatsoever but in a strange mind numbing way it was fun. A lot like an overdose of heroin actually, including the hospital visit.

And now for a fun fact! Jaster of Keenspace's ARG! fame posted on the Go Gaia forums for two weeks, by the end of which he had several multi-page threads to his honour and was considered a demi-god.

End fun fact.

One thread that I was told about went something like this.
Depressed Person wrote:My friend died today.
Captain Asshole wrote:OWNED!
Of course, I don't know what their user names are.

Point I'm getting to. They felt that they were in a community of friends and people that they could share there feelings with. And instead they were mocked and made fun of.

And I did think that even if someone was making that up, their friend dying that is. That's still not the response to give.

Reminds me of some fun I had 3 years ago when I BECAME A GOD!

Or something like that...

I used to hang around the PlanetdeusEx offtopic forums, posting under the name of "Jaysee".

I did nothing out of the ordinary until one day, when things were going particularly slow I decided to start a llama-worshipping cult! Seems like strange thing to do nowadays, but it made sense at the time.
I mean, it was a simple enough thing: one of the oldbies who'd recently "departed for good" had had a llama's head as an avatar, so I decided to do the most sensible thing one would do in his wake, which would be to prepare the masses for The Second Coming!

To my surprise, the popularity of the cult spread like wildfire!

People came from far and wide to pay their respects to The Holy llama. In no time I was announced "Grand High Chief Lloodoo Priest Of Undisputed Power" and all the other forum goers, even the oldbies, were at my beck and call!

I conducted grand quests to enlighten ("Project Spork") and sack ("Project Foon")other communities while delegating more minor tasks to my favourites who would move on to gain revered positions in the movement as bishops of the Llama Order.

Yes, in a short time I had became a very powerful man.

But after a month or so, the novelty of the cult started to die down for me
