I do think that is has gotten much duller around here compared to when I first joined.

Not since I first joined though. When I first joined it was dull. But about a year later, it was a smash.

Personally I blame the splitting up of the forum into overly-specific sections. When I started there only like 5 or so sections: GD, Help Center, TTT, (I can't remember if OT was around when I started or if it came later), KinIME was up in the main group if I recall, and one or two others. Now there are 9 in the main section plus the 3 "Hosted Communities."

Eh, dunno. I think one of the most creative periods was right after it was split. Revolution jam was in GD, and Reality was in OT. Most of forums were made right then, only Archive and Get-Togethers were made later - and maybe Pitching, I'm not sure.
But you don't check all sub-folders, do you? There's never anything new in Archive!

I wouldn't say the forum's better or worse than it was, just different. Sure, I preferred the old days, but the new blood should be able to make this place as their own, and then bitch about it a year or two later when it changes again.

Things change. I'm content with the knowledge that time has a way of changing things. I'm a member of another forum that has mostly 30-40 year olds, and a few of them complain about how things have changed, as if it was some sort of shocker. I always say in my head, "well, duh."

I usually keep the forums running on a tab throughout the day, but there's almost never any posting going on.

It's very slow here lately.

that's the thing, i may have not been here as long as most of the proverbial "old guard" but i've been around long enough to see this place grow, and change, with all that entails, good or bad.

new blood can bring interesting possibilities, be it a potential friend, or target of unabated mockery.
