when I come to toronto there will be occasion for you to wear a dress/skirtPimpette wrote:I don't think I've worn a skirt/dress since my best friend's wedding in early August. In total I own two (three?) dresses, one long skirt, and one short skirt. The dresses I just keep in plastic so the cat's don't claw at them... I don't really have any occasions for wearing them, and I'm more comfortable in pants.
Though when an occasion arises I like getting all "dressed up." It's just fun.

The hatred for uggs is really strange around here. A second ago it was like, "you should just wear what's comfortable." Now we're all deriding the most comfortable shoes in the world because some girls wear them. We shoulda changed our name from KeenSpace to FashionPolice.
Fashion should be an expression of one's self. If you skoff at such an idea, well, your chosen fashion will certainly express that viewpoint. My style's pretty simple: The classic American urban dirtbag. I'm lazy, and it shows. But I definitely appreciate seeing a girl on the street wearing a completely impractical outfit that probably took two hours to put together, including hair and makeup, wearing a sweater that won't keep her warm and shoes that will inhibit her walking. Humanity has moved past practicality. Let's stop pretending otherwise and make ourselves look really fucking hot.

i don't have any problem with the look of the uggs, just the intelligence of some of the wearers, expescially when the wearer is out in 20 F degree weather (before windchill), wearing uggs, a short skirt, long-sleve shirt (made of the thinnest materail available), and a down vest (from The North Face), complaining about the weather and how cold they are ... then wearing the exact same clothing combination the next day (same temp) and. not. dying!yeahduff wrote:The hatred for uggs is really strange around here. I support people wearing what they want, even if that is uggs. I never thought that uggs should be banned or shouldn't be worn, just I think they are gaudy and ugly. I also think those black pants with superfluous zippers and chains that are large enough to hide a cow are ugly, but that doesn't mean someone else can't like the way they look or appreciate their style. I certainly wouldn't want to wear them, but I think it's fine that other people like them. Unless they don't like the way they look AND they're uncomfortable and they are only wearing them to fit in. That's when it's beyond any logical reason to wear them (unless the point is to look hot, which I totally support.)
I'm certainly not one to make fashion judgements around here. I often wear something like a bright turquoise Element shirt and baggy camo shorts with red, white and black shoes that are falling apart and socks up to the top of my shin (the grungy, punk/skater look). But hey, it's a style, and it's my favorite one.

A dude in my dorm walked around all day in black pants, black shirt, black leather jacket, and a black bandana to top it off.
Imagine the pain he went through to be hot. And the copious amounts of sweat.

Yeah, I thought that...but it's okay, I forgive you.JTigerclaw wrote:Really, that was you?Kat North wrote:I go out in publc in a penguin suit
Aw man, I guess you thought I was weird for talking to you and calling you Avatar007 the whole time. I feel like an idiot.
Nah, my work suit is black pants and shoes, white fancy shirt (long sleeves, icky in summer) black vest, and a sparkly black tie or bowtie. I go with the regular tie. So it's close enough to a penguin suit...
