Did anyone here post in the comicgen meet up thread? It'd be nice to keep track of people there.

An exerpt from Chapter 3:
Quite a few people did indeed freak out with the new hole in the center of North America where Wyoming use to sit.
The White House, for one, was feeling rather antsy. Covering up a meteor the size of Texas hurdling towards the earth was one thing. Trying to convince people that nothing was happening in Wyoming was, quite to everyones surprise, was going to be quite another. Wyoming, they were certain, wouldn

hah. nice.blackaby wrote:So what are all your stories about?
I still don't have a title for mine (or any text), but it is about this modern day pirate who like dies & all his kids have to go hunting for his treasure! Uh. The kids are grown up.
mine's about a nice little good boy named Adam who's nutty and wakes up in random odd places covered in blood next to a few dead bodies, along with memorabilia from his past. when he sleeps, he dreams of an alien. its name is RA and no, it's not me it's RA in its original form and wow that is a lot of its.
lazy sput is lazy.

I'm well on my way!
What's mine about? Well . . . I dunno yet. I'm just taking some characters, putting them in space, and hoping I can keep bluffing long enough for an idea to catch. There may be an intergalactic war. Or just some skirmishing. And I may throw in a magic sword and some demons. Just for the hell of it. *coughs*
It's based very very loosely on an idea for a short comic I had, inspired by Legostar Galactica. Here's the hook: the main character is the token alien crewmember, who is, in fact a HUMAN serving on an alien spacecraft! Bum bum BUM!
Yeah, I know. It had better have a good story to back it up . . .
I actually wrote a short story based on this idea that I felt very good about. This novel? Ehh . . . I imagine it's going to suck.

My version of Nanowrimo is to try to finish my text game before the 2005 contest. I'm trying to write a really up-to-date dynamic NPC AI system. (It's not as spiffy as it sounds, and mostly involves loops, witty catch-phrases, and cheesy love triangles.)

Current word count as of this moment is 4053. Everything is pretty much underway. Characters are introduced. Primary setting (as opposed to introductory setting) is about to hit. Conflicts, omens, terror, and violence await.
Six friends are taking a pleasant train ride back home to Savannah, GA, after a trip to New York. The train makes an unscheduled stop in a sleepy little town after taking the wrong fork at the switching station. Something is jammed underneath the locomotive wheels. They get out to stretch their legs and grab a quick bite to eat while the engine crew makes some repairs. Suddenly, unaccountably they are left behind. Did the train leave early? Did they somehow forget how much time they had for a stroll? And more importantly will they ever get home alive and with their sanity intact? Will they even remember where home is and who they are?
I'm experimenting with a long of different things on this one. A strong focus on interpersonal relationships, which is a big change for me. A more abstract approach to the nature of the horror they confront. Shifting POV instead of one central character. None of my usual satanic TVs, eldritch horrors, or sociopathic children. It's been a lot of fun so far.

I like the idea of doing it like a book jacket! So without further ado (not written yet.. but the first part is planned! ^_^)
Blood runs in the streets of Tirnadyn as the commoners rise against King Baithir and his foreign Queen; Baithir and their children are brutally murdered by members of the family

21st century pirate Lucian Dessaix is dead - and thanks to a glitch in international law, the two billion that Lucian stole during his years at sea can be kept by whoever finds it. Amongst the hundreds of 'treasure hunters' and worried international authorities that have descended upon Lucian's homeland, Los Hellas, in the hope of finding the stolen loot, are the pirate's four children. Born to different mothers (in different continents, in different ports, and concieved in wildly different - but always exciting - circumstances), Lucian's kids are out to claim their inheritance.
Will post a snippet tonight I think!

If it helps at all, the main characters (kids) are:
Valery - 'puter geek (brit & protagonist)
Sessily - really nasty but famous author (brazil)
Keiko - totally into fashion, wants to be a sex therapist (japan)
Alistair - neurologist (egypt)
I was thinking of calling it Multiple but that doesn't seem like a catchy title.

What the hell! I'm gonna go for it. I've had this lame story idea in my head for a while know and I'll just go and see if I can do it.
Title: The Entirely Factual Events Aboard the USS Thresher
Summary: At 9:18 a.m. on April 10, 1963 the USS Thresher was lost to this world, but not before it's crew undertook the most amazing and entirely factual story to ever occur in the history of mankind.
Historical facts, time travel, aliens, and a final confrontation between a determined captain and his mutated frenzied first mate all await you in "The Entirely Factual Events Aboard the USS Thresher" An epic historical novella written by famed internet phenomenon James Rossi.
Anyone who DOES NOT LOVE this story deserves the death penalty.
