Stuff I drew at anime club tonight. At first I was going to draw some people in the room, but then I decided to draw myself talking about how someone brought in an entire pizza.

I like your sketches, but am laughing at the wording.

I wish I could sketch people like that. Someday I'm going to have to sit down with some of you people and just figure out how to sketch humans.

Heck, it ain't us who'll be the most help. Take a sketchbook to a crowded place and go for it.

Yes.
What I need to do is look at a person as a thing. I can sketch things, at least well enough now that your eyes won't bleed. But for some reason, people don't qualify as things in my mind and I hit a logjam.

There's a disorder where you cannot describe other people, and I think I may have that. Right now, from memory, I couldn't picture my dad well enough to tell someone what he looked like if he went missing. I could look at a picture of him and immediately recognize him. I don't have trouble recognizing people I know well. Just describing them.

Ditto though, people I don't know well. I confused Faub and Fading Aura for a long period of time, despite having met them. I'd just keep quiet until one or the other spoke and then would know the voice. :shifty:

If someone I know changes their appearance, I won't immediately recognize them though. There's a woman I dated for nearly three years who came to our wedding, and she'd changed her hair and was dressed up, and I didn't realize it was her or even that I knew her until she spoke.

On the other hand, I can picture our dining room area well enough to give a rough sketch of that. Or the front of our apartment building. Even the park we only visited twice that's nearby us. No prob.

There's an accidentally omitted "up" at the end of that sentence.

Carry on.

Stand down, men, the person saying that in the picture is a character of mine, not me :P . I am, however, the one complaining about the pizza.

Although if you were wanting to make a move on me, I will have to laugh raucously.

rkolter, I think you're talking about face blindness.

Sketching people isn't that hard. I take a blue pencil and blob out what the head mostly looks like, the guidelines, then fill in the details.
