The night after election day (Nov 6) I had a dream about voting. Although I don't remember the actual act of voting, I remember getting lost in some church basement where the polls were supposed to be, and misdirecting some Mafia types looking to rig the election. Then I got in a car, and it really threw me for a loop because they were already discussing the results on the radio. That seemed impossible to me, but I woke up and realized it was my alarm clock radio going off.
Haven't had any weird dreams that I remember recently. The most interesting one was one of those paranoid "a secret global conspiracy is chasing me" dreams. I hid on a playground and in order to avoid attention, I was sliding around on the roofs of the play houses. I slid down onto the sand headfirst, intending to do a flip and land on my feet. I failed and landed face first. Suddenly my vision went black and white text spelled out "Alte Menschen haben gebrechliche Knochen. Auch du wusstest von einem solchen Schicksal."
which roughly translates into "Elderly people have weaker bones. You too knew of such a fate."
I guess I broke my neck and died, but death didn't bother to let me know for sure.

I had a dream that I was in a Weather Study class, to observe the changes from Global Warming... in Alaska.
I started out in the fall, around the same time as now, and icing started to occur. But 30 degrees didn't feel so cold under layers and layers of clothing, the advice given was to not get wet. (Can you even "freeze" in a dream?)
For the winter, I pretty much remained indoors. Seems about right.
By the mid-term report, my conclusion was that Global Warming can hardly be a problem if its 43 degrees outside with the water at 39, in mid-April.
Summer hit, I'm assuming around June, and we celebrated by doing a high-dive into a 44 degree pool.
Then, I was woken up.

My weirdest dream lately was about a Girl that became a ghost that kept trying to do random sexual favors to me when ever I didn't want her too, but when I wanted her too she cried and said I was being mean because she's a virgin. o_O I thought a lot about this, and the only thing I could relate it to reality was the play 'a Funny the Happened on the way to the Forum' which I had seen just before the dream.
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

The boy turn on the heat and that hotel room got so hot it was hard to breathe. Of course I turned it to A/C.rkolter wrote:I dreamed last night that it was very cold. Then I realized that Beth had turned the AC on in the hotel room and stolen all the blankets.
As for dreams, had a rather messed up one. I recall only that much.
I'm rather like Ryan in the respect that I pretty much remember all my dreams, and can often consciously interact with them. Since I've got this level of control, my dreams are often incredibly fun (A possible contributing factor to our mutual proneness to night terrors?). An example...
I'm sitting in central perk (Yes, I have little imagination and generally end up in an environment fitting to whatever I watched on TV that day). I'm chatting with Rachel from friends. I think to myself:
"You know what? This is a dream. I should make it more awesome."
Suddenly I also have telekinesis and can fly, and have a muffin, and Rachel's top falls off. Yup.
Saying this, I do tend to have one recurring dream, which is that I'm somehow surrounded by a zombie horde. It varies, sometimes they're shambling, sometimes they're 28 days later style zombies. I generally run about with a shovel or other such weapon, and have a jolly good time. I wake myself up if things get too hairy, or too many limbs mangled/amputated.
The other night though, I dreamt I was a zombie, part of the horde, trying to avoid the army. Which is weird for me.

Back when I was employed, I would sometimes dream that I was at my job, working, and I'd often be half-consciously upset that I wasn't getting paid for my dream-work. I believe that, on more than one occasion, I had a dream where I quit during my shift because I realized how pointless it was to work during a dream.Keffria wrote:I've been having dreams that involve my workplace lately. Dreaming about work really sucks when it's after a long shift, though. It's like, I just spent the entire fucking day at work, can't I dream about something else? How about cupcakes? Cupcakes are nice. Or clowns, or something, as long as they're the good kind and not the Nazi rapist kind.

Yeah, and I never have any GOOD (or even INTERESTING) dreams about work - it's just me making a lot of sandwiches, possibly getting really stressed out because of the sheer number of people wanting their daily grease fix. It's like reliving a day at work.LibertyCabbage wrote:Dreaming about work really sucks when it's after a long shift, though. I guess it's better than those dreams in which my teeth fall out, though.

I've lately had dreams where I realize, mid-dream, that it is a reflection of a comic, manga, tv show, or film. So then I start dreaming about reading, watching said pop-culture artifact. Then when I wake up, I realize that said media object doesn't actually exist and that I had dreamed that up as well.
Then I get upset because I can't remember the plot or style of it in any coherent way, so I can't use the ideas that were there.

strangely, my dreams tend to be the opposite. they tend to always be me watching from the outside, even myself. I see myself as though I'm watching a film... not through my own eyes.rkolter wrote:I taught myself to dream lucidly when I was a young teen, and generally remember, and can interact with, my dreams.
But, they're also either very improbable or quite demented.
