Jeez... Muffo, I really hope that your comebacks aren't sincere... Really, just start discussing anime/manga (i.e. fulfilling the purpose of this thread), because this is getting really irritating.
Soooo~! How about that manhwa, too? I kind of like Priest, though it's a bit gory in places; it has a neat style.

I liked Priest, but it just didn't have enough dialogue for meKeffria wrote: Soooo~! How about that manhwa, too? I kind of like Priest, though it's a bit gory in places; it has a neat style.
I've heard of Sexy Voice and Robo, picked it up too.

What I really liked about those two was that they weren't in the "enormous-sparkly-eyes-and-pretty-boys" style - you know, the "classic manga" look, or the "still-frames from an anime" style. I like manga that looks different, or that, at least, doesn't overdo it on the screentones and greyscale shading.
I don't either, but that's what seems to be popular. I tend to go for older manga most of the time, One Pound Gospel, Maison Ikkoku, Galaxy Express 999, and Akira being some of my fraves.Keffria wrote:What I really liked about those two was that they weren't in the "enormous-sparkly-eyes-and-pretty-boys" style - you know, the "classic manga" look, or the "still-frames from an anime" style. Go, 80s manga!
I really wanted to like Maison Ikkoku, even though I sincerely disliked her other works -- I mean, it's a classic series, and one of Viz's "Editor's Choice" picks. But I read the first volume and it basically followed the "guy falls in love with girl -> opportunity for romance -> hilarious misunderstanding -> repeat as necessary" formula... Does it get better?

Anyone here reads Ragnarok? It's really good. My sister bought all the first 10 volumes. Great read.Keffria wrote:Jeez... Muffo, I really hope that your comebacks aren't sincere... I think it's mostly that, like all of Rumiko Takahashi's long series. I've heard her short stories are pretty good, though.Keffria wrote:Go, 80s manga!

As far as things go, the last thing I read/watched was Azumanga Daioh and before that I watched Planet ES. I'm not a huge anime/manga fan and there's tons of "classics" I either haven't watched or can't stand, but there are series I like.
It gets much better and the misunderstandings are really funny. I wonder how she came up with all those situations. Sometimes I think the plot of Love Hina was taken from Maison Ikkoku with a few exceptions here and there.Keffria wrote:Go, 80s manga!

I read the first 9 because they were free through the library. I would never have bought them otherwise -- it started out vaguely interesting, but it was around the time that the costumes started changing that it just got ... ugh. I will admit it had nice enough art, though the fight scenes were sometimes hard to follow.prettysenshi2k6 wrote:Anyone here reads Ragnarok? It's really good.
