I mean, do we even know how old he is? He could be ten. Kids are getting computer saavy at a really young age.

I don't think a ten year old would have the proper nostagia to make a sprite comic. He'd have to start playing video games as he was born to even get to look at a sprite game.

Now I feel old :(
I remember caring... It was nice.

Have you not heard of an Emulator? Heck, up until a few months ago Gamestop was selling used Nintendos.
Besides, you don't have to have any sort of nostalgia to make a sprite comic. His comic uses sprites but as far as I can see it doesn't relate to any actual video games. Not to mention that that Inu Yasha sprite is most certainly not old-school.

Aw, I opened this thread expecting to see the wild and wonderful adventures of me.

How disappointing.

Ha! There is nothing that anyone can do to me that would be any weirder than my real life. :P

Y'know, if you're trying to make a comeback, at least steal a different kind of avatar... *shakes fists at sprites* *clamps her hands back over her poor ears* >.<

*edit* And he did! Dammit, now my post makes no sense! I demand you return to your awful sprite avatar!

In that case, he needs to maybe rethink the whole sprite comic thing...

Haha Vindication!!!!

Seriously though even crudely drawn unrecognizable comics are in general more interesting than sprite comics. But that's just me.

If have even one finger you can draw. The more you practice the better you'll get.

Can you try? That's all you need to do. You gotta start somewhere.

While in a sweeping generalization kind of way I agree with this comment, I believe I am living proof that its not always the case. I started drawing when I was around 6 years old. Now its over a quarter of a century later. I still can not draw as well as (most of) the people on this board.

I even have some woks I started over 15 years ago I STILL have yet to get right.

Its all well and good to offer wildly general commentary such as "Practice = improvement" and usually the motivation behind such comments is encouragement. SOmetimes, however, it really just does not help.

Just a thought. Feel free to disagree. I am sure most of you will.

Someone seems to have actually voted "yes" to the poll.

Gee, I wonder who that could have been.

Even if you haven't become as technically proficient as others, look at your own work now compared to when you were 6. Is it better?

Let's say I concede you're just as good as you were when you were 6, at the very least you should become quicker at making your drawings. and that's a kind of improvement.

Hey, it could have been someone else. I mean, you never know, it really could have!

...oh, who the hell am I trying to kid.

HeDanny: have you taken classes? Those help big time. And also you know...being a good artist isn't necessarily being good the way other people are. You gotta do it your way, you know? They wouldn't be YOUR mushrooms if you didn't draw 'em YOUR way.

Oh, there I go, being nice again.
