Of course, when winter comes, we can have snow bunnies. :)

We've had that law for a while now in Ontario. The people fought so hard to get it, and now that's it passed nobody seems to do it. I just found that so ironic.

The freedom is often far more important to people than the act itself.
Existence is a series of catastrophes through which everything barely but continually survives.

Yeah, that, and it's Ontario. The opportunity doesn't present itself too often.

Yeah, it's nice to have the opportunity; doesn't mean you'll want to exercise it every single day.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

Of course. For example, we want freedom for women to go topless, although we're not even women.

Pfeh. Anyone who can't handle frostbite in 15 seconds is a serious wimp.

Er... You said you knew history?

The war of 1812 began when the US declared war on Britain because they were attacking American trade ships.

Major events in the war:

1813, Battle of Thames, won by the US. It's the only major battle fought on "Canadian" soil.

1814, British set Washington DC on fire, and that fire additionally consumed the Presidential Mansion.

Also 1814, The Treaty of Ghent is signed, ending the war without a winner.

Flaws in your statement:

1) The only major battle fought on Canadian soil was won by the US.

2) "Canadians" didn't set fire to Washington D.C. British (out of Britain actually) did.

3) Canada wasn't even a NATION in 1812. You were colonies of the British Empire until your independence in 1867.

4) The White House did not exist as the white house in 1814. The president had a mansion called aptly, the Presidential Mansion. The mansion was burned to the ground, but not specifically selected - the entire city was burned.

5) Since the treaty was signed without either side surrendering, neither side "won".

About the nipple-topic -- why ARE men allowed to run around without shirts?

When I see a topless guy with giant man-boobs (and I've seen many around here), I think that's much more obscene than a topless woman and her normal breasts.

Because way back when, we made the rules?

New Fun Fact: It was not considered scandalous in Victorian times for a woman to show her breasts, complete with nipples. Women often did so to cool off, even in court. However, showing the naked arms and legs was considered taboo.

Interesting Fact: One of the few buildings to survive the burning was the US patent office. The director (who I don't remember) went out to meet the British troops, and said that only barbarians would destroy such a building, and convinced them to spare it.

And RKolter, thanks for giving me the mental image there... Mmm, victorian boobs... Hmm, we need a drooling smiley.
