Charlie and the Chocolate factory
Just came back from a sneak preview... I've got to say, even though I've been waiting for this movie for close to a decade, the trailers made it look...well...god awful. But it was really very fun.
I recommend it!

I guess you're going to see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie as soon as it comes out ^__~Toxic wrote:I want to see this version because it looks disturbing.
I'd go gay for Captain Jack Sparrow.Teammayhem wrote:Johnny Depp is one hell of a good lookin actor, and he has the acting chops to back it up. Unlike Ben Affleck.

Trailers always overhype/underhype movies. Don't judge something by only 2 minutes or less. They just have those lines there to capture the audience's attention quickly.MERBman wrote:Bah. From what I've seen, I'm none too impressed. Come on -- the trailers are where you're supposed to put your best material! Your best lines, your funniest or most interesting stuff.
What do we get instead?
"Let's boogie."
"Ha ha. You're weird."
"I don't care."
WOW IT'S SO WACKY
You know, i should work on this.

Actually, trailers often are a good indicator, since they're supposed to showcase the best of the best. If that's all they've got, it's pathetic.
Nothing I've really seen about that movie makes me think it'll be anything less than a letdown.
Still, I'd be pleasantly surprised if it's good. I'm not HOPING it'll suck, it just looks that way.

The trailers haven't impressed me either. However, the reviews that it's gotten so far have been positive, so I might just see it.
Trailers are usually good indicators of how good a movie will be, but sometimes it completely steers me in the wrong direction. I have never ever been impressed with Pixar's trailers, for instance, but I ended up really liking their movies.

The previews made it look like it could be a disaster...
...but reviews have been surprisingly good (it's actually got a 100% over at Rotten Tomatoes at the moment...although that's sure to go down somewhat when more reviews come in).
It's good to see Tim Burton going back to his fun wacky roots after a few years trying to do mainstream "serious" movies.

Agreed on the Tim Burton part. Personally, I really liked the original and I'm hoping it's even freakier this time around. It's one of the VERY few movies I'm going out of my way to see this year.Humbug wrote:Im watching it because Johnny Depp's in it.And any movie directed by Tim Burton is good in my book too.
I've yet to see a recent trailer that accurately describes a movieMERBman wrote:Actually, trailers often are a good indicator, since they're supposed to showcase the best of the best. If that's all they've got, it's pathetic.

Because lately they don't showcase the best of the best...
In fact lately the way they're cut makes them look almost nothing like the movie's supposed to be
er I want to add on that I know this because I saw ALOT of trailers/movies last christmas as I worked the projectors at the Cinemark in our mall
