I like the works of The Mooman Experience. My favourite one of their particular pieces would have to be the chart topper, "Mr Bob Rocks My World". They totally set the tone for which the pop-rock-indie-alt-givol genre would follow in the coming decades. Absolutely rivetting work!

a fairly complete list of the music I listen to. It's missing a couple of newer buys like foo fighters and the new gorillaz. I would say that just about anything in there gets listened to every once and a while. I have times when I'll be hugely into one group and then not listen to their music for months, it just depends. Doves are my number one favorite band though, they are my go to band when I need something to listen to and nothing else seems to jump out at me.

I went to the first one. Pretty damn awesome to listen to the music at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (acoustics in that place? Daaaaaaaamn.). I swear, I saw Gabe Newell there (the guy who did Half Life). Pretty awesome, I highly recommend it.noxmeansxno wrote:Side note - I'm going to this.
As for my musical tastes, they're all over the damn map. I don't like restricting myself to one genre, so I go everywhere, according to my moods. I love to listen to all types of music. Currently, I'm in a conservative phase (meaning no downloading music) but I've been in phases where I download a lot of Korean, Japanese, Russian, German music, in all the genres. Favorite bands/artists include NiN, Black Eyed Peas, Jedi Mind Tricks, Outkast, and Foo Fighters. I guess I'm close to Leko with my tastes, but mine are much more organized. I don't bother remembering song names though, because I like so many.
You know, i should work on this.

I'm really excited about it. Going with some of the greatest guy-friends of my life, so I've no doubt that it'll be excellent. We all ordered our tickets about a month ago. Now I just get to sit around and impatiently fidgit.Teammayhem wrote:I went to the first one. Pretty damn awesome to listen to the music at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (acoustics in that place? I have a friend who works for the LA music center, so I got to go for free. I was laughing at a guy in front of me who bought his ticket for 5 grand.noxmeansxno wrote:I'm really excited about it. Leko- JMT is very political, underground-ish rap group from Philidelphia check em out at http://www.jedi-mind-tricks.com/.

I am a huge fan of classical, Jazz and Folk.
A few favorites:
The works of Moravian composer Leos Janacek
Duke Ellington is my hero
Peter, Paul and Mary
Richard Wagner
Maurice Ravel
Just about any medieval or rennaisance music but only played on period instruments
Chick Webb
I've even liked a bit of Arnold Schoenberg, particularly "A Survivor of Warsaw"

I like all kinds of music, Japanese rock being my fravorite type. American music wise, I'm obsessed with Coldplay now....I need to get a hand on their new CD. Also I like Gorillaz's new song Feels Good Inc.

Moving Pictures, 1927, a bit of Icehouse, Paul Kelly, Peter Allen and generally good classic Aussie pop.
Hands up anyone who actually recognises most of those named...
Outside of Australia I go for Billy Joel because it's piano based and not as frilly as Elton, and I love the guitar work of Jim Croce, again hands up if you recognise him.

My musical taste is eclectic to the extreme, I fear.
(Edited because it's rambling. I'll just put it in list format)
I like a lot of game/anime/movie soundtracks, some musicals, and some Celtic-wanabe stuff. Also, some random tidbits here and there.

Disgaea
Xenogears
Xenosaga
Secret of Mana remixes
Chrono Trigger remixes
Chrono Cross
Ico
Final Fantasy 6,7, 8, 9, 10, and one from X-2. Particularly 7 and 10.
The Black Mages (in small doses)
Star Ocean
Katamari Damacy
Jason Webly
Lain
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Cowboy Bebop
Enya
Loreena McKennit
Enigma
Nightwish
traditional Andean music
