Fortune Cookies are an American thing, invented be a Chinese restaurant owner to amuse his customers a long time ago. They were later introduced to China as "The American Fortune Cookie." Unless I've been misinformed again, which tends to hapen every once in a while.Eunice_P wrote:Being a Chinese living in Asia. I've got a pretty good track record of getting cookies with multiple fortunes. Probably happens every 1 in 10 cookies or so, most often at a restaurant. I even got a cookie with THREE fortunes in it onceWarren wrote:Never got that, but have gotten one with TWO fortunes.rkolter wrote:I once got a blank fortune cookie.

Ah, no wonder Fortune Cookies are a big business in America. Maybe I should introduce those cookies in my country. It sounds pretty fun.PeppermintAfterlife wrote:Fortune Cookies are an American thing, invented be a Chinese restaurant owner to amuse his customers a long time ago. They're just one of those things that's expected at a cheap Chinese buffet or take-out place. The cookies aren't really that good-tasting (I think they're just sugar and flour with some vanilla extract mixed in) but they're a bit of tradition now.Eunice_P wrote:Ah, no wonder Fortune Cookies are a big business in America.
