Little Big Planet
Stinky and I just picked up a copy of the game Little Big Planet today, and I have to say, I'm liking it sooooo much better than Spore - not that they're exactly comparable, but Spore was so hyped, and in comparison, was rather disappointing (to me). Has anyone else played Little Big Planet? Any thoughts?

I think they are comparable, in terms of ITS ALL USER CREATED AND THE NEXT BEST THING SINCE GOD.
But LBP seems to be, erm, better-er

Re: Little Big Planet
Fuckin' Little Big Planet for being only on PS3! It's Bullshit really. I see no reason that it cannot be released on any other console other than the fact that the people at Sony are money-grubbing whores and would rather spend money to boost their already shitty sales by exclusively selling games that could easily be multi-platformed rather than games that support their "amazing hardware" that we've heard them brag about sooo much!
Call me bitter if you will, but I'm sorry that if the console that bitched for ever about being a "media console" rather than a "game console" is starting to get better games than my Wii, when we all know that they would work JUST as good on the Wii than they wood on a PS3. I mean FUCK! If they can get Forced Unleashed on Wii then they sure as hell can get fucking Little Big Planet on Wii! It's just not fair I tell you! It's not fair...
*breaks into tears, like most Wii gamers that are tired of their second-rate games do, when ever a cool game is released that is obviously not being bastardized by their shitty hardware that only limits them to either cool game play or cool game graphics, but never both at once.*

Re: Little Big Planet
Some of the things that Little Big Planet has going for it better than Spore is great gameplay, more customization, multiplayer possibilities, and adorable and expressive characters. Plus the artistic style is very appealing.
Spore has cool science fiction stuff and possibly a larger universe to play around in, but very limited gameplay.
So LBP does seem better than Spore in a lot of ways. However, Spore still has the possibility to improve as more patches and expansion packs are released.

Re: Little Big Planet
AP, LBP is just WAYYYY too hardware intensive for a Wii. Its not money grubbing. Maybe in a few years we may see a PC port. But the Wii and 360 just can't run it.
Way I see it, LBP is the best thing to happen to the PS3 since MGS4. MGS is amazing, but not everyone's cup of tea. I am damned to be a fanboy.
But
LBP is for one console, and just a very unique game. Its the kind of game that people go "I should buy a PS3... so I MAY PLAY LBP"
The PS3 just hasn't had enough games that moved people to buy the console, and this may change it. Which will in turn feed more cash and people into the PS3 market which will in turn push developers to make new games that really push the limits of the system.

Re: Little Big Planet
from what I hear, LBP's bag guy is going to be Sony's Mario, which is why it's not going to be on other platforms.

Re: Little Big Planet
LBP is next up on my list of games to pick up, but this month's pick was Fallout 3 so It'll be a few weeks before I get into it.
On a related topic my PSN is SergeXIII, so look me up next time you're on the PS3.

Re: Little Big Planet
I'm a Wii gal; lots of buttons confuse me, so LBP is one of the only "real video games" I play with my husband. I die often and hilariously, e.g. by being trampled under giant shoes. I think it's pretty fun. My favorite game is Boom Blox, but there are only so many times you can convince people to play "tiki tower topple" with you. At least with Little Big Planet, there are always new levels, and it's fun even for the most uncoordinated sack-girl.
I give LBP the wimpy non-gamer seal of approval.

That's cause you shouldn't own a wii in the first place

It would be so ridiculous and difficult to play on the wii. Now as to why it can't be on 360 as well? who knows...
moot anyway I have all the consoles

Every console has an exclusive or two. That's how they succeed or fail. Heck, Windows* and the Mac have exclusives too.[AlmightyPyro] wrote:Fuckin' Little Big Planet for being only on PS3! Anyway, haven't seen it or played it but I approve of what I hear. Original, social, creative and fun are all good things.

Wow I forgot I even posted that rant. xD That's probably the most articulate drunken post I've ever written though. lol. Well except for spelling "WOULD" as "WOOD".
I still think that as a whole that Wii and the 360 are better consoles than the PS3. They can keep LBP.

does 360 really have exclusives? it seems that every exclusive for the 360, gets ported to windows.

Did they make it like the original Fable they promised to deliver but never did? I was excited about the original Fable.[AlmightyPyro] wrote:I really like Fable 2. It totally out does the first Fable.

Re: Little Big Planet
Hmm I'm glad to see some people have a PS3. I'm thinking of getting one during Boxing Day this year.
Well I'm not too sure yet...I'm aiming for either getting a combo of a Wii and PS3 or a combo of Wii and a 360.
I only have a month to decide!
