What was wrong with that? It was a nice little Doctor Who mystery with a neat twist. Reminded me of a Future Shock from 2000 AD.

Do they still do those? The Future Shocks, thatis. I know they're still doing 200 AD. They must be up to issue 5,000 by now.

This is very annoying. That's so not what Joel Said, and you know it. You're just pissed off that someone cracks on preccious Indiana Jones.

Or I was making a joke. Should I put a few more wink-razz smilies in there to make it more obvious? Image

I don't really care either way what other folks think of the Indy Jones movies, individually or as a franchise. And I certainly can't be "pissed off" about what anyone thinks about the newest movie since, as I mentioned, I haven't seen it yet and therefore have no clue whether or not it's good enough to bother actually defending.

Jeez, McD.

So you don't really think that Joel didn't like the new Indiana Jones for things that are found in every Indiana Jones movie?

Do you really think that I would actually think Sir Fagin was really that shallow and oblivious?

Seriously, the one time on this board that I actually did start to think one of the regulars was being that way about a movie, I became genuinely confused and asked for clarification rather than make a simple joke and walk away from it as I did here. Really, Sir McD, considering how many disagreements we've gone through together, I'd hope that you'd be able to recognize when I'm making a serious objection to something and when I'm just making a silly comment. I saw Indy yesterday. I mostly liked it and in fact my favorite character (besides Indy) was Spalko. I thought she was cool, and scary, and she had a sword so that's a bonus. My only real problem was the basic premise of the plot.

Darn you, von Dänikeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

Last night I watched "Charlie Wilson's War", a great film about a Texas Congressman's covert dealings in Afghanistan to assist Afghan rebels during their 1980s war with Soviet Russia.

The night before that, I watched "Strange Brew" and "Rambo" at a friend's.

Oddly I hardly ever watch movies. The last I saw was, um...We Are The Strange last month. My friends watched it together on my laptop in our hotel room during a convention.

I saw Indy. Liked it. I especially liked the plot! I thought it was really cool. Though (spoiler alert?) the bomb scene was just pointless and stupid.

Just watched George Romero's Diary of the Dead last night. Allow to speak directly to George for a moment, because I know he reads this forum (actually from watching this film, it's apparent that Mr. Romero, who wrote and directed it, doesn't really know how the internet works). George, the first three living dead films were classics. Wouldn't change a thing about them, but buddy... Land of the Dead? Diary of the Dead? I think it's time you put the Director's chair and beret away. Also Toe Tags sucked.

My sister went to see Sex and the City and when she came home and told me about it she started sobbing, she was that moved. Really sad... her, not the movie.

Watched Robin Hood: Men in Tights in German television yesterday. Despite most of the word-play not translating, I find the translation did have its perks. For one, Marian's German maid isn't German in the German version, but Dutch, and Cary Elwes doesn't have an English accent, so the only reason he succeeds in ousting Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham is that he isn't costing the producer 5 million.

Watched Hellboy for the first time last night.

Interesting.

It was fun and I'm glad I bought it, but I do think that Guillermo del Toro is a far better director than he is a writer.

Last week I saw The Illusionist. Man, that's an awesome movie...wish I'd known about it when it first came out!

So, I watched Lars and the Real Girl. A film about a man who falls in love with a sex doll and the town that grows to accept their relationship. It was charming.

No, really. Highly recommended. <3

I honestly can't remember the last movie I watched in a theater... I did finally see Transformers at a friends recently though. Not bad, it didn't really immerse me, but it was fun to watch.

I am looking forward to actually seeing a few of the comedies coming out. Anyone else excited about Zohan?

Did he screw up the zombies? He was one of the only ones who did zombies properly.

It tickled me greatly.
